I am trying to not arouse suspicion when family comes over for the holidays. I will not be able to close my flowering box door when I have family in my home. Can I put a four foot flourescent shop light in my flowering box in place of 400 watt light and l close the door to my box early with flourescent shop light on?? Of course I would have this light on a timer to go off when the lights need to be out. Will this provide enough light to my plants? I know if I closed my box early with 400 watt light on would cook my plants. I just want to be safe and and sacrifice my crop.
If you have Jorge's indoor horticulture book (2002 edition), he writes about it on page 66. The main caution is making sure your fluorescent bulbs are full spectrum.
