It's nearly Halloween and, apart from the annual emergence of egg-hurling children mugging people for confectionary items, that means the red tops are stuffed to the gills with tenuous celebrity/ghost stories.

We found a peach this morning (October 29) - one paper is reporting that Oasis' Liam Gallagher not only believes that his house is haunted, but that he was once visited by the ghost of his idol, John Lennon.

"He lies awake listening with the lights on," said 'a source'. "He sometimes wakes up and feels as though he is being watched by someone from another walk of life."

Eerie enough, but that's not where Liam's relationship with the dead ends.

"I was in Manchester at a mate's house," explained the man himself. "I turned round and there I was, lying on the bed, and I sort of fell back into my body. There was a presence there and it was him, Lennon."

Better than waking up with Ringo, we suppose.



What do you guys think? Just a halloween story or could it be real. I don't really know what to believe..

Well, the belief in this story certainly depends on whether one believes in ghosts or not. Personally, I do believe there are spirits who try to contact us, so his story very well may be true. On the other hand, our mind often plays tricks on us. If we believe in something strong enough, we can fool ourselves into "seeing" and "hearing" it for real, even if we are just imagining something. Especially seeing as John Lennon is his idol, he may just have imagined it, but I am not doubting him. I am not a person who needs to see something to believe it, so I tend to take people's word for these stories. I believe my grandfather who died on Halloween a couple of years ago comes back to visit every year. I feel his presence, and Halloween just seems different than other days and holidays, but this could also just be my imagination. Who knows?

 

I think if Lennon was still alive he would probably be somewhat friends with the callager dude, not to keen on his story though.

 

Tabloids always make for a good laugh.

But i beleive that John Lennons spirit is at rest and not earthbound.

 

Hahaha, can't be! John Lennon's ghost has been sitting here on my couch for the whole past week.

 

what?? no! your all crazy!! he couldnt have seen john lennon's ghost cause john lennon never REALLY died!! he's just taking a break.. the beatles are still going to have a reunion.. i swear. his death was faked so he could avoid the currupt american empire.

I think that Liam is a completely alcoholic wanker who wishes that Lennon's ghost would visit him to justify his "oh so depressing" millionaire existence.

I do kinda like his music though.

Hmm, I'm not sure if I believe the story, though :S I guess I've never really been a strong believer in ghosts either.
If John Lennon could haunt anyone, would it be Liam Gallagher? Who do you guys reckon it would be?

i dont really believe in it too.. but i wish it was true. maybe thats why i like force myself to believe in it, because i want John Lennon to be here on earth again. Hes my hero. so yeah.

My guess is if he were to haunt anyone, it would be someone he was angry with. If he were to visit someone, it would probably be Yoko or someone else important to him. Wouldn't you all agree?

No, I know what I saw is for real. He offered my family and I cookies, and they were a bit too sweet, but they were still good. He said he doesn't like to sit on couches anymore, so I guess you're just imagining things.

 

Don't be sad . I am sure he will be sure to visit you next.

 

I don't want him anymore. It's not that I can't use the couch now, but I don't like watching tv with the haze of John Lennons spirit before my eyes. He also likes to tickle my organs, the bastard.
