Let's Write a Poem

Okay, here are the rules;

All odd numbered posts do not rhyme.

And all even numbered posts must rhyme with the odd numbered post above it.

The idea is to all get together and make an actual poem that kinda makes sense when you read it.



Here goes;



As I walked though the forest on that beautiful day

 

I Stubbed My Toe On A Mound Of Clay..

It seems I had been distracted by

 

A Handsome Man I Think Is Gay.......Sigh..

But later with my toe still sore

 

I Caught Up With.....And ..Did I Score..!!

(Well, I guess that’s the end of that poem. I was kind of hoping we could do better than a bad limerick. Let’s try again.)

Here goes:
I hopped a freight train out of town, looking for my past

 

grabbed my guitar and split outta town real fast

 

I was hoping my fingers could find the songs I needed

 

You know, the songs of old that we once heeded

 

Sittin on the train, watching the land roll by

 

Staring into the union of earth and sky.

 

Thinking and wondering about my life and what's to come

 

Strumming on my six-string as we rumble toward the sun.

 

When the train runs out of tracks

 

Honey, just hold my hand and relax

 

Sit down with me and eat an orange

 

Life doesn’t always have to feel so strange

 

I know, let’s run away from this foreign Land

 

come on, baby, and take my hand
