I a a 52 old with a real medical condition. Glycoma. I smoke marajuana for the condition. It has made me sick wacthing the millions and millions of dollars being made on marajuana. At all these clinics I explain to them my condition and that I'am on disibility. My eyesight is bad yet do you think anyone of the dispenserys would give me some slack on the prices to help my glycoma. There all for the money and not the collective as they were intended to do. What I been forced to do is try to grow my own with the bit of eyesight I have left and I will attend every and all State agencys to shut these bastards down.

sorry to hear that.. But you dont really get a doctor at the Dispensary . You see a Doctor like you do when sick otherwise..

Im not really agreeing with you, but I dont like busting my back to grow cannabis either... It more work that my Real life job, But =CANNABIS is My real Life job..

Once you get a card, you can get some better deals.. Shake is where its at if your poor though. Believe me.. The deals on Kush Shake for an ounce is like 20 dollars and Its probably better weed than you can buy illegally from a corner dealer..

unfortunately it is a business like any other. i dunno if the dispensary is the problem though - maybe the restrictive laws against cannabis (even when it's legal for medical use) are what keep the prices high. i'm not sure, but it's probably not very common to get your insurance to cover it.

maybe you could see if you could do some type of work for them to pay for it? make it a co-op

You do know weed in dispensaries and any state with widespread medical marijuana is generally cheaper than everywhere else right.

I don't know where you live, but here in California, we have a system of collectives and dispensaries are not allowed to make a profit.

What that means is if you join a collective you are able to enjoy the collective fruits of everyone's labor, which means if you put some energy or money into the collective you are welcome to get medicine in return.

Most good dispensaries (and therein lies the difference) give away a lot of pot because they cannot make a profit. So excess product is usually given to those who can't afford it, or lower prices are sometimes available, usually for less than top quality cannabis.

Also good dispensaries are very careful about the product they carry. They try to ensure top medicinal quality, free of chemicals, mold, etc. So the product is likely to be far superior to what can be purchased on the street (and like it's been said, it costs more on the street).

Those who are only in it for money won't give away anything, and those are very easy to spot. So it's not all dispensaries that are "bad". Just some, and it's completely unfair to cast all in the same light, cause they vary tremendously. No two dispensaries are the same (unless they are run by the same collective).

I don't mean to nibble but if you really have a medical issue and your medication is costing you $600.00 a month don't you think that's a bit excessive. I mean my prescription at the hospital for glaucoma cost me about $20.00. which doesn't work as well as the marijuana. The dispensaries I know are making a killing money wise. Two dispensaries in Oakland brought in over 25,000,000. Yes that's 25 million in profit but yet they don't really give a fuck or not if you really marijuana for a medical need. What happened to being a Collective like it started out to be. I know people need to make a profit but hey 30 million and not bat an eye to the people that really need it yet but can't afford to shell out a grand a month. Peace Out

If you need $600 worth of medicine (about 2 ounces) a month, then you should consider getting edibles from a good collective.

I agree, no medicine should cost a patient $600 a month. Max I can see would be $100. But the economics of it aren't there yet.

You went to one dispensary, and you read about another, and therefore all are just rip-offs.

    Not logical.

I could tell you good stories and bad stories about dispensaries, just like any other biz.

You are cutting off your nose to spite your face there, although its very early days at least you and ''others'' have got the option of buying legal clean cannabis in your country. I think You would do better to lobby your goverment in to funding it like prescription drugs are cos many of the drug you get actually cost a lot more then the standard flat charge for a prescription.

The thing is that the cost of any sort of medicine these days is really really high. And my experience is that getting cannabis at dispensaries is way cheaper than getting it elsewhere.

Of course I love dispensaries because then there is somewhere to legally take what I grow.

it'd be nice if that's how it worked, orison

are you familiar with that quote by shulgin? about how he alone should be the customs agent at the borders of his own body. he decides what can and cannot pass.

Don't the have a caregiver or collective where you live, there most be others like yourself. Work together. there are people out there willing to help people like yourself, you just have to find them.

25 million profit is BS, that means they aren't any better then the drug companies.

Ya I suppose your are right as I may get better hospitality at another Dispensary yet I just got bad vibes at the one I went to. It just seemed all about money. Do you know of any Federal Government programs that supply marijuana. I seen a documentary a few years back about a few special patient getting Federal Medical Marijuana. I believe it was some type of testing. Do you know what I'am talking about? At the present I am growing my own cuttings. Really I can't afford the $325.00 a month at present. These dispensaries should operate at a profit but when there profit pushes 30 million a year nothing will good come of it I assure you.

why don't you hire someone you trust to be your plant caretaker? heck you can even find someone to do it for free as long as you give them a few nugs once it buds.

i recommend finding/ hiring a caregiver. i only get dispensary weed for flavors, i have a caregiver for my main supply. i dont know what state you are in, but thats feasible here. there are two kinds of licenses basically, and your grower does not have to be smoking it, or even have an mmj license. they do have to post a copy of their caregivers license i believe, but really you just designate someone to grow for you.
