What is your oldest memory?

 

Going to Kaleidoscope with my Aunt and Cousin I was like 4. I probably have a few from earlier but this was the first one that came to mind.

I have vague flashes and memories of being in Totem Pole Park, in Sitka, Alaska... and these cliffs in the rockies... around colorado/montana/wyoming area.

Also... sitting in my dad's old Ford LTD/Maverick/Mustang while he worked on them, when I was three-ish.

I also remember George H W Bush on tv... and Clinton being sworn in on his first term. I can see Hillary and Chelsea standing behind him at one point and his hand raised as he's sworn in.

I remember a few little seconds of the gulf war and seeing clips/footage from it...

And... playing Desert Strike with my dad on Sega Genesis in '93 or '94. You had to pick up Iraqis running around in their underwear with a helicopter. I remember blowing up Saddam Hussein's scuds, pointed towards Kuwait... :eek

I've always been told my memory is photographic. I can go back within a year or two and rewind events of just about any day, then replay them in my head. Or portions of days... I also have alot of memories from when I was little. I can also remember vacations really well. I remember in '95, when we got lost in the Outer Banks and ended up in Corolla, North Carolina. The wild ponies were chasing after our car at one point (horses that survived from the Spanish and shipwrecks)... and I also remember trying to find a hotel before a hurricane made landfall. I can remember lotsa hurricanes... Floyd of '99 was really bad.. washed out the road going to our farm and destroyed one of my favorite fishing piers in NC. Isabel of '03 was a downgraded cat. 5 that left us out of power for two weeks, even though winds were only just over 100mph. Made landfall at Ocracoke Island, NC.

i remember finding a bear and naming her guido because my dad said it was a good name for a girl, and when we went on a roadtrip and parked under a bunch of giant dinosaurs and i was really scared.


what do you put on pancakes?

 

hmm ... I think it was when my grandpa took me out on a sled for the first time. I was just a tiny little kid strapped to the thing, and he would pull me around.

haha josh puts sleds and grandpas on his pancakes.
