Yes, yes, I am aware that I made a post about this like a year ago, but I haven't contributed anything on this forum in a while, so...Lets make a list of movies about gays guys and lesbians!

Lesbians:
*Chasing Amy (sucked ass, she wasn't really a lesbian)
*Gia (not focussed on the lesbian thing, but its in there. Plus, ANJELINA JOLIE plays a lesbian! Yes yes)
*If these walls could talk
*Better than chocolate
*But I'm a cheerleader
*Monster (again, not focussing on the whole issue of being a lesbian, but hey!)

Gays boys:
All I can really think of is *Sugar Sugar

And I guess Luarel Canyon

The reason there aren't so many gay movies is pretty obvious; there's more of a market for a movie about lesbians than dutty fags. It's not how it should be, it's just how it is.

 

Isn't "Alexander" supposed to have gay scened in it, considering that he WAS bisexual back then?
Apparently, he had a relationship with his best friend...I read this in an article.

Other than that, there's this really weird and fucked up gay movie called "LIE" (Long Island Expressway), and they kinda portrayed gay guys as either perverted or fucked up

To be fair, "Troy" should have gay scenes. But what can you do?

There must be more. The only one I could think of that had a significant gay character (i.e. one with a discernable personality) is "As Good As It Gets".

 

i just watched "latter days" with a friend. story about gay mormon boy and the guy he falls for.

 

I loved Chasing Amy ! Kevin Smith is some kind of god.

 

I saw Alexander yesterday afternoon, very much longer than I would like (almost 3 hours), but VERY good. I was so angry, I was waiting for Jared Leto and Colin Farrell to kiss, but they didn't. Just a lot of deep hugs and meaningful looks, and then Colin says once "Stay with me tonight" to him, but aside from that it only hints at gaynessOh! Wait! Colin kisses and Indian guy on the lips! That was kind of hot...

 

Beautiful Thing (An Urban Fairytale) - probably one of the sweetest movies about young gay boys that I've ever seen. It's a fucking awesome movie. Made in the mid 90's with a soundtrack by Mama Cass... look it up, find it somewhere, its amazing.

Get Real - Fucking funny, fucking suave movie about a young gay guy and how he finds out that the big popular guy at school is gay as well and the ensuing shenanigans. Funny, but confronts the issues of coming out and the realities of it very well.

The Incredibly True Story of Two Girls In Love - its been mentioned before on this site. It's a funny, great movie. The title kinda says it all, really.

 

there Are MANY Asian one's ( I'm not including all the anime,there's tons there though....if you want, I'll tell you some nice ones though. Right now I'm talking about movies with real-life actors .).
One's called 'bishonen' (pretty boys), which is chinese...(eventhough bishonen's a japanese word.)

Oh, another one I saw was "Happy Together", a Hong Kong film. But it's really quite dull.

it's about three couples of lesbians from different generations, one couple from the 50s another from the 70s and the last one from 2000s.

An there's that weird movie by Peter Jackson, but I ferget what it's called. Tha one where the two chicks fall in lourve and kill one of 'em's mom.

These things made me care about gay/lesbian couples even MORE...to tell the truth. I always cared about it, though. Makes me want to chop this sociaties head off.....

Heavenly Creatures? That film's excellent.

 

Heavenly Creatures is excellent except its less about lesbianism and more about their psychotic attatchment to each other.
