ok, so I just learned to knit, and I want to make a head sock (I figured it would be super easy as a first project) So, the lady at the knit shop I learned at told me tonight to knit one, purl one in order to get it to lie totaly flat (as oposed to purling the whole way). My question is, does this mean knit one stitch, purl one stitch, or knit one row, purl one row? thanks mamas, I'll post up pics when I'm done! Much love :0)
Pretty sure she ment knit one stitch purl one stitch. This will give it a "ribbed" effect. Good luck!!!
Knit one row, purl one row will make it flat. you could try a couple of rows doing each and see what you like more.
yep... if it were 'knit one row, purl one row' she would've specified 'row'.... glad to see new folks picking up such a great craft!
