All our two or three week old kittens have eye infections. Closing shut. Green pus looking. We're cleaning them constantly with a clean wrag. I know they need anti biotics. Can I get eye drops at the farm store? They sale about everything veternary. Is there any natural remedies. We're a poor farm family. Cant aford to get all the kittens vet care.
    Thanks for all relies/advice.

hate to say it but it sounds like an advanced case of feline distemper. it is VERY contagious to all cats who haven't been vaccinated against it! it is nearly always fatal, especially with young kittens...i'm sorry for the bad news but you probably already know by now just how bad it is...

please vaccinate your pets! parvo is a must for dogs and distemper for both cats and dogs...it's a single shot and doesn't cost much. most communities have regular low-cost vet clinics where you can get them their shots for under $20. we will be gathering soon and every year we have parvo outbreaks and it's such a waste...parvo wouldn't be a prob if those who say they love their pets would show it. parvo is an ugly way to die...

Thanks Sam! The mother cat doesnt keep their eyes clean like most cats do. It's mostly when they wake up and actually since we've been cleaning them with a soft cloth they're all doing fine except one kitten we've been staying on. Good info on the vaccinations and Parvo. One of my best buds is a horse and dog trainer and he gets vaccinations in bulk and hooks up my dog Little Bear. I dont know what we'll do with these kittens and mother cat. She's a stray or drop off. I've never kept female cats just for this reason.

sonoron sam hit the nail on the head. The kitties may work out expensive but it'll be cheaper in the long run. It's good to keep their eyes clean but the infection runs in the blood, which is why it won't go away without meds. They usually don't get vaccinated until they're healthy again. Good luck with them!
