    Playful little kitten
    Black with white mittens
On your back with a ball of yarn
    And loving every minute
    So eager and so clumsy
    As little kittens are
You try to jump on things
But can't quite reach that far
    And you run away embarrassed
As we giggle all in fun
    And you wander in curiosity
    Until the day is done
Then you purr yourself to sleep.

~*Inspired by the kitten I'm keeping until her mommy gets a home*~

LMAO ! MJ that was a cute poem. And I bet your loving the fact that you now have another kitten to play with, hug and have it cuddle upto you. :D

I'm wondering if it wakes you up in the morning like the other cat you once had.

Yes, she does wake me up in the morning! But this cat's still a kitten, and it's really hyper and playful. It just wants to bite you and claw you. :) Garfield was already grown and he would just wake me up by smacking me in the face with his paw and then giving me a look like "it's time to pet me!" LOL I miss that cat. **good times**

awwwww MJ Garfield smacking you in the face with his paws makes me laugh :D. What a lovely cat. 'it's time to pet me', lol.

When I typed up the last post I thought the cat that use to wake you up was named Garfield but left it out as I wasn't sure.

Have you got a photo of Garfield ?

Yes it certainly does sound like good times. But your only 19 so you will have heaps of more good times to enjoy. :)

Everytime I look at the name of your poem 'Kitten Mitten' it makes me laugh, lmao. It's SO cute!

    You Bring Joy !

Used to have 18: two Mamas, neighborhood Pals, and a whole lot of Kittens. Tough when 100+ pounds of Kitty want to snuggle.

Grumpy Loving Adjustments were the answer, and we all worked together. Yes, very heavy. Found good homes for the Munchkins. Mamas were Katmandu and Amelia (Earhart). These Cats were amazing - beautiful communicators - even displayed 'pack behavior' when a dog approached their "dens".

I trained them to the shaking of the dry food box at mealtime. Eighteen little galloping Tigers. Lots of audio calls and 'animated' communication techniques. Katmandu would take my pen away from me when I was writing and she wanted my attention (Calico Tiger !).

Actually considering how MJ loves cats so much. I would imagine she would be head over heels with 18 kittens. LOL !

Can you imagine that MJ. 18 kittens on your bed ready to wake you up in the morning. :D

Think of all the fun you could have naming them.

    Sounds like a blast!
But I don't know... this little booger's starting to get on my nerves with all of the biting and scratching and pooping on the floor!

That's what kitten mitten does with my pens! She was doing it when I wrote this poem lol.

Awww... my old cat garfield was a calico tiger-looking cat. :( i miss him.

Don't want to mess with you; it's just something that strengthens the soul if one is open and from the sound of it, you are open: Amelia was gone for six months once and my heart was torqued. I'll add here that I have been with many animals that have passed onward also. Well this wonderful lady called me, she must have been 80 or so. And she into the answering machine "David _______, you come get your Cat Amelia right now!" Definite stunner. She had been feeding her for about six months and finally looked at her tag. This lady apparently had a fantastic history with critters, she even had a monkey years before. I was stunned. I have many stories about cats wandering great distances. And one time, years before the "18 cat" times, little Basil Green Tea, a kitten, playfully wisping in and out of the door diappeared and to our eyes and was not seen again. We think someone gave her a home. Then there was Angel, the cunning survivor, who lived in coyote country; who used a water tank just above the ground, for example, to protect her self. Mom and her friend had her for years but Angel disappered. After she disappeared, apparently, foot prints and story about a stray cat fitting her description living nearby came to our awareness. I have learned to teach cats of healthy fear, for instance I will never "loosely" walk into the street while the cat is watching instead I will, as habit, animate great caution. Teach your wonderful Tiger well. Do you have a liiter box? When you get one make regular cleaning a habit (should take my own advice - I know what it is to let it go awhile). A clean litter box is a big deal to them. Don't feed them garbage. As the lil' Tiger grows she will mellow with the claw action (she, yes?). Much more, use your intuition and talk with folks. Your Cat is Blessed and is a Blessing.

    :)

Yes, Mitten's a girl. Which means I will spend a lot of money some day to remove her reproductive organs. [IMG]

Those stories are encouraging. Maybe my cats Moo Moo & Sam will return home safely some day. [IMG] But Garfield is a goner... I found him lying dead in the shed out back for no apparent reason. I don't know why he would have died. It didn't look like he had been attacked or anything... and he was a playful, young, healthy cat. So it caught me by surprise. It sounds like the Lord was looking out for your 'lil ones.

It is wonderful to hear your spirits, MoonJava, Warlock and SylvanLightning.

One time there was a beautiful under-developed kitten. I worked hard, fed her kitten milk, kept her warm; tried hard. I slept with her on my chest, I prayed. I woke in the morning and great sadness and acknowledgement came over me as I sensed the profound stillness. Tangled in my shirt during the night she had passed. But somehow there was this hidden feeling of good, of peace. Life is precious and I believe that there is ever available oppourtunity to manifest good, no matter the situation, no matter the difficulty; too high, too low, too much in the middle, listen to the soul.
