is he delusional? with more than 60% of us wanting to get out of Iraq and 35% wanting an immediate withdrawal, he's still toting this line. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080226/ap_on_el_pr/bush_governors
There may be 60% of us that want out of Iraq, but what percentage of that 60% will vote for Hillary or Obama? Many will hold their noses and vote for McCain. The democrats in their selection of nominees this year have almost guarranteed a win for the republicans.
I sure hope he's wrong... the country DOES NOT need another republican in office. And I'm sure whatever happens, we won't hear the last of George W yet...
Obama has a strong following and is a possibility IF he can squeeze by the superdelegates but that doesn't seem likely. i'm wondering how many of that 60% heard McCain's speech about staying in Iraq until the job's done. seems to me what's missing in politics is outrage from the electorate.
I believe it... as long as the US government stays the way it is, we're all doomed to have to deal with this idiocy... same shit, different assholes.
as long as we have this interventionist foriegn policy we'll be "intervening" somewhere or another. who wants to guess what's next? darfur, pakistan, kosovo/serbia, iran...
We're heading directly towards Saudi Arabia. We just have to take over some countries before we can militarily.
I highly doubt the US is going to go after Saudi Arabia. Their government is already subservient to, and in the pockets of the US.
Iran, definitely. It's just a matter of when. If it doesn't happen before Bush leaves office, it will happen under the next president, regardless of who it is.
I agree. It would be advantageous for the next president to take a stand against Iran and divide the Middle East. I foresee the next American president going to war with Iran, or at least paving the way.
Are you people completely ignorant of what happened in the Vietnam War? U.S. involvement started with JFK, although on a small scale. Then LBJ replaced him and escalated U.S. involvement in 65. He was replaced after choosing not to run by a Republican presient, Nixon in 68. The war didn't officially end until Ford came to power.
the trick being used by bush is the same as hitler or any government minister (remember iraq when american tanks were just down the road and an iraqi minister was proclaiming that iraq wouldn't be taken?) to be a successful politician is to never say you were wrong and also to be a good liar. i feel that the americans are just "voting" in another idiot whoever they may be. jfk on the verge of pulling out of vietnam after realising the army had lied to him, on the verge of breaking up the CIA after their sterling efforts and also on the verge of taking down the mafia , was assassinated. if the americans don't understand by now that their constitution is just toilet paper.... lets face it most people don't even vote because they are too dumb, the ones who do manage to vote because god told them to vote just about crawl across the line of homo sapien.
that's so true... these days the president can do whatever he damn well pleases... no matter what he says or does, no matter what promises are made, it doesn't matter.
