i have been enjoying reading throu this forum for a lil while now, just started posting recently.. hope yall dont mind.. but man im confused, i have read numerouse posts of kids wanting to get locks and there parents say no.. thats a shame , it really is, and i feel bad for ya all, but i have the problem in reverse. i have 4 kids ages range from 15 to 4 , i have almost begged my 2 older sons to lock up there hair, and they refuse!!! i mean wtf!! i dont get it. but hey , i guess they wanna express themselves in there own way , not my way..lol but it is still just crazy to me, what do you guys think about that? am i crazy or i am just way cooler than my kids!! hehelol

    idk

Seems to me that most people who lock up share a certain character trait and passion for wanting dreads. Maybe your sons don't have it? Takes a certain kind of person to wear dreads

this post makes no sense, I can't put it into words :\

go to user cp, then edit signature, and then upload the picture.

my question is why do your dreads equate to being cool with you? Let them do there own thing .. i can assure you havin dreads dont equate to cool or anything else for that matter.. who you are comes from within not how ya make yourself look on the outside...

ok shit like this little comment make me laugh so hard that my boyfriend thinks I'm crazy.
love these forums never laughed so much in a single day.

sorry didn't mean to de-rail the topic

But I hope my kids (when I have some) are cool with the dready way not so much as for them getting them but so that they don't think I'm their crazed mom who is a loser and needs serious mental help lmao

which that will prolly happen but oh well

    LOL Slipknot...
    nu metal (N)

I'm also 16 and have dreads, I wouldn't force them into it or even recommend it to them. Let them find out what they want ;)

Thought this thread was gonna be asking who wants kids out of those who don't have any yet.

I daren't think what my son is gonna turn out like. He's 9, and likes Glen Miller, Offenbach and Johann Strauss. He's a complete steam train spotter-geek, and is obsessed by anything World War 2  Sometimes a think he was born 70 years out of place.

u screwed up by begging them to do it
they wanna rebel against what you want from em
if u left it more up to them they might choose too
but then again, they'd be the only ones in school dreaded which makes em targets at that age..they just wanna do what everyone else does to try to fit in
if they were homeschooled or somethin it would be a different story

Idk, a lot of people do not like dreads. My parents really do not like them either. My mom likes certain dreads, and my dad really does not like any of them, but he does not think they are tremendously bad. It is just up to the person.
