For the fairy theme, as party favors, you could find tiny bottles and fill them up with glitter. Attach miniature labels with ribbon stating that it contains magic fairy dust. Maybe add a little rhyme to go along. Instead of bottles, you could also buy the tiny bubble containers that are sold as wedding favors, wash and use them. (though the see-through glass is more effective)

In, "Halloween, the best of Martha Stewart Living", she created fairy wings out of crafting wire (I believe) and tulle.

Buy some glass beads and maybe some fairy pendants and have them string up some necklaces. Dump all the beads on a plate or pan so they won't roll around and have the girls sit around it and design their own necklaces. Should keep em busy for at least 10 minutes. :)

    Good luck...parties are stressful!

    Where are you moving to?

Ooh, a fairy party sounds fun! I am planning a birthday party for my daughter as well, she will be 7 in a few weeks. I am looking for ideas. Last year, her party was total anarchy.

bake mushroom shaped cookies and butterfly cakes they lways go down well.

You could find some pics of fairies on the internet, photocopy them and set them down with some pencils and a million copies of fairy pictures.

Make fairy wings out of wire, old stocking and glitter and glue.

make a whole bunch of fairy wands for all the girls coming so that they dont feel left out with some card, glitter and doweling or something similar or have the party gusets all make their own wand at the party.

Stick up cut outs of mushrooms and fairy things around the party room...

and dont forget the fairy bread!

    I want a fairy party :(

let them make their own wands! (I did this at a Harry Potter party my little sister went to about 5 years ago.)

    - sticks - 12 inch long, 1/4 inch diameter
    - pre-cut or bought stars of some kind to put at top - about 4-5 inches
    -glitter
    -stickers
    -glue
    -markers
    -sparkly ribbon
    -anything else you think of

    HAve fun!

What if the boys were Elves? I mean, with the LOFTR and Legolas, boys seem to think that Elves are alright and somewhat "manly"... lol... at least "manly"-er than fairies.

you could do like a treasure hunt thing, saying that the faeries have left little clues around the garden....but that takes a lot of planning, writing up the clues, hiding them, making sure one group doesnt find another teams clues (i suppose u could use different coloured paper)...my mum did something like that for me and i thot it was great, plus it gives you 20 mins to hav a gin and tonic!

how about when you play pass-the-parcel you put glitter and sequins in each layer as well as a sweetie/candy?

decorate cupcakes in red icing with white spots for toadstool effect!

you could buy those cocktail umbrellas and multicoloured straws for their drinks..in keeping with the hawiian theme

for the boys you could hav bow and arrow making...my dad made me one outta a piece of plastic tubing with string tied really tight to bend it...they can propell just about anything from one of those!!....on 2nd thot....

you could also use facepaints to paint on "tatoos" for their faerie tribe

face glitter is also great fun

ive run out of ideas,sorry..good luck anyways and hav fun! xx

Sounds like you're going to have an awesome party! I bet your little girl will be thrilled, and what a great way to socialize with the new kids!

I love planning parties. It can get crazy, but the end result is always worth it! ;)

Make sure you post pictures, I'd love to see them! :)
