I have been directly throwing all my composting stuff from the kitchen and lawn directly into my garden spot. I have this med sized kiddy pool i picked up in someones garbage would that be better..Do i need to cover it if i have holes drilled in the bottom.Do i need to add worms, or should I just keep throwing it in the garden directly..

I do some of both. I mulch with my grass clippings directly in the garden. But I have a seperate pile for things like my coffee grounds and egg shells, etc.. You could use the wading pool for your kitchen waste along with some garden stuff like weeds. That way if there's any seed riding along you can heat it up and kill it in the pool first. And a few worms never hurt. It would also be easier to control the ph of pool compost and maybe use it for making more acidic compost. That would be handy if you have azaleas and things that prefer acid.

update: I have been using the kiddie pool for months now throwing all my compost in and turning it with a shovel and now i have huge earth worms and beautiful black soil....I throw paper, vaccuum cleaner dirt, scrap material, food waste, yard clippings, and it turns to dirt and i put it on my garden......

I edited out the link. Sorry, can't have links in posts.

    Peace,
