i scored some super cool second hand stuff recently. first of all, a really beat up, worn in Ben and Jerry's ice cream t shirt that has the "Vermont's Finest" logo on back :) it was 50 cents. then i got a pair of denim overalls for a quarter! yard sales rock! even better than thrift shops, cause they're cheaper.

I can't even afford to shop at Goodwill right now... :( Ours is really expensive... I just can't bring myself to pay more than $10 for anything there, but everything they have is "expensive," as far as I'm concerned.

The Salvation Army kind of sucks, but I always got really cool tshirts there. Everything else that have is kind of gross.. it has like this layer of filth on it. Weird.

yeah, nothing pisses me off more than an expensive thrift shop. well, not that nothing pisses me off more, but not much. anyway....the thrift shop closest to my house is WAY overpriced. i hate it. i used to work for a great thrift shop, so i always got first choice of stuff that came in, and only had to pay the percent that the store would have to pay the consigner (sometimes only 30% of the store's price). that was the BEST job ever.

I know what you guys mean, some of the thrift stores around here are really pricy for the shitty quality of stuff they have. It pisses me off too.. Our Goodwill is actually not bad though.

totally! in los angeles, there is this vintage t-shirt store on melrose that sells most t-shirts for an average of 30-70 bucks no joke. the only time i've been in there is to show a friend how ridiculously priced they are. anyway, i finally found those overalls i was looking for. five buck score. i also got this great mug for 50 cents that has two babies, a girl and boy, looking into their dipers and saying , "so thats why our salaries are different." pretty funny.

Yes! I got a metal, moon candle holder for a $1 that matchs a sun one I already had. A pillar candle for $.59, and aromatherapy candle for $1 (Romance, wish me luck[IMG]), a box of cool rocks for $5 (I'm a sucker for rocks), a little, cobalt blue, asianish planter for $1 that I'm now using as a pen holder at work and a little heavy brass box in the shape of a heart for $1. All in all, a SCORE!!!

I know stealing is wrong but our goodwill is so overpacked that they have to store stuff outside. Well. My uncle took a bunch of old beatles albums. He got a couple hundred dollars worth. People throw away to goodwill alot of stuff.

haven't been thrifting this week, but i went last week.
i found a couple of yards of cool neon fabric from the 70's. the pattern is all different types of mushrooms. ($2.00) i am using the fabric to make aprons to wear at the animal shelter i volunteer at.
i also found some old necklaces from a yard sale, that i am going to cut up, to reuse the beads($1)...and a green glass bowl to go with my collection of old green glassware($1)....and my mom got me a couple of t shirts from a yard sale.
