Was there really a need to remake this movie? I mean COME ON! Oh well... has anyone seen it? If so, what did you think? How's it different from the first?
sequel? I think they're doing a great glass elevator as well but this one is based on the original book and the sequel will follow later.
it looks so rubish and unreal in the trailers it looks like some plastic cartoon landf or something totally unrealistic and that damm guy depp aaagfhhrr he's making the character seem so americanised it looks so unreal kind of what the grinch film looked like ie really unrealisic this is an outrage and mockery of a sham of a mockery of the original and kids who see this one for the first time without seeing the old one are going to think its great wen its not aaaaaaghhhhrrrr hollywood idiots
flowersinyourhair are you serious? Im not saying the movie is gonna b good but ur reasoning is pretty stupid. First of all if you watch the original that didnt look to realistic either, kinda of like some plastic cartoon land. Second of all Johnny Depp is one of the least american American actors that hollywood has. And third of all Tim Burton is really good (planet of the apes did suck though).
In fact the look of the two films seem pretty close from what I gather. If I were making another Chocolate Factory Film I'd have tried to make it completely different and try to forget that film as much as i could and just look at the book. Unfortunately the first film was so good and so influential it's pretty difficult even for someone like Tim Burton to keep it out of their mind.
This follows the book supposedly where the first one deviated. It has not come out yet. As long as they leave "cheer up charley" out I will be happy.
haha, I so second that, I used to make my mom fast forward through that damn song. This one isn't a musical, so none of the songs from the first. And really, this looks like it's not hollywood at all, I'm really excited to see it personnally. Johnny Depp is a really talented actor, and Tim Burton is a wonderful director (I never saw planet of the apes though).
That's what I was trying to say, I really like Tim Burton, but, he's bound to make a bad movie one of these days.
Planet of the Apes, say what you will, is proof that Tim Burton can pull off a remake that is at least unpredictable. However, since Willy Wonka is cased on a book, it's unlikely that he can change the ending like he didfor POTA. But...when you consider most movies are nothing like the book anyway, he can do what he wants. None of us are purists, admit...even if it sucks it was worth a try.It only adds to the prestige of the original that peopletry to remake. Until Coppola's Dracula, nobody could top Nosforatu or the Bella Legosi Dracula. Each attempt only proved the superiorty of the original.
fair enough depp and burton are good but wot i saw in the clip really didnt fill me with joy it just dosent look good it looks to plasticy and when depp says that stupid line chewing gum i hate the most chewing gum is really gross just sounds rubish
Ooh, tough call. If you get a chance, check out Nosferatu (1979) starring Klaus Kinski. Even though the movie itself is slightly flawed, Kinski is the best vampire for my money. Back on topic... I'm a yuge fan of Burton, Depp & Wilder. I don't think any of them can lay a rotten egg. BUT I will say it was mighty arrogant of Burton to try to remake Planet of the Apes, and his version suffered for that reason. I hope he's not making the same mistake twice. I don't know what to think about Charlie, and even if I did, I guess it wouldn't be fair to say anything til I've seen it. But anything short of phenomenal will probably be a letdown.
i dont think it is a remake, both movies are based on a book!!!! charlie and the chocolate factory is supposed to be a lot different than the old Willy Wonka. I think it looks really weird, and thats a good thing, cuz I like odd movies! It doesnt come out here for another week or two.
i havent seen it yet cuz i dont think its out :-/ but i heard there was none of the songs in it like there was in the old one. that was my favorite part.
I cant wait to see it... I anyone read the book its pretty different from the first movie.. I expect the second movie to differ too.... But it still looks good
