Just saved a dog

and it happens to be the mother of my new pup I'll be getting in about 5 weeks.

Was it a hunting dog or a punting dog?

 

Labrador. It got stuck under the shed and we had to saw the floor out to bring her up. She had been away from the pups for at least all morning.

 

Nice. Good rescue. So are you going to keep the mom and all the puppies or will you just be keeping a puppy? Do you know who's dog it may be?

 

I am keeping one puppy. The owner works for us and is out of town on business. He asked us to go save her because his girlfriend couldnt do it. I am buying one pup.

not sure about sex. I will be looking at temperment first and foremost. dont want a whiney yappy dog. No names yet. Maybe George, if a boy. Perhaps Jackson, too. He will afterall, be black

 

My advice is get a girl, they are great with kids and very protective...my brother and sister each have female labs. My sis in law has a male lab and he is an asshole.

 

I have had both female and male labs in the past. My experience was exactly the opposite. The female was retarded. (no, really) and the male was amazing. I do have pick of the litter so I need to be very picky here.

 

get a male! i LOVE black labs, my favorite dog ever. we had a brother and sister growing up, the male died a year ago and it was really sad... he was the best damn dog ever to exist. my best friend. visits me in dreams

 

I'm leanin that way myself.

and it'll be "puppy" to me it's entire, hopefully long life.
