*Just Another Wish* Life makes the world turn around, More like upside-down, spun around. I know it hurts when the pain doesn't end, Feeling helpless and defenseless. Like the blowing of the wind Needing a hand of help When there's nothing to reach for Higher, falling further, downward spiral hit the ground Life never felt real, like an illusion a dream a ghost left to haunt But through the darkness will we only find light The sun never shines in the darkest of nights Forget what you see the ash is too blinding Reminding to me that you are all that I see Under pillows and sheets I count the dreams I've lost Nightmares once broken and shattered all hearts If ever there was a time for winter to turn And twist all fingers reaching outward to ice I'd release all the trauma and reach to your eyes Like stars they shine for a season But they'll always be there Deep within my chest I breathe with you Feeling the taste of relentless passion For something so new and so hard to find Promises turn into memories that stay But deep in your heart there's something much more More to be found where dark turns to shadows Then shadow becomes light Within ourselves we find it in another And slowly like the beating of dying hearts We indulge and find that inner strength to carry on To a place so far away where we all can find peace and rest One soul lost melts like wax into another And burns like fire to break through the ashes to sunlight -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, just in case you didn't get the meaning of the poem. It explains how I felt before I met my special someone in my life, then moves onto how he makes me feel...and then how I feel now.
good use of similes and prose style is strong. Nice that you wrote about stuff you know and feel. It's easier to write meaningful things that way. yep, good poem babybud!
