Who else is in love with Jefferson Airplane? I decided long ago that they are the best band ever, after discovering their first four albums (....Takes Off, Surrealistic Pillow, After Bathing at Baxter's, & Crown of Creation) in my dad's record collection. What is everyone's favorite Airplane album? ~*~Abbey~*~
Theres already a thread like this in the Psychedelic and Garage section...But yeah their amazing! Jefferson Airplane & The Jimi Hendrix Experience/Band of Gypsys are my faves Surrealistic Pillow & Crown of Creation
You know, i liked jefferson airplane but i was never really THAT into them until i watched this dvd that was the doors live in europe and it was all hosted by grace slick and paul kantner and after seeing grace slick on that dvd talk about jim morrison, the 60s and drugs and... everything made me fall in love with her and now i'm getting pretty deep into the plane.
for years i wouldnt listen to them for a couple of diffrent reasons mostly to do with someone i hated being into them but have become a huge fan over the past few years with "after bathing at baxters" and "crown of creation" vying for favourite album
I only have the Greatest Hits album, but I love that so shall be getting some others soon hopefully. I love White Rabbit
Did you know there are people out there? Who are unhappy with the way that we CARE?!? For the EARTH-MOTHER!!!! Legends.
my absolute favorite song by JA has gotta be White Rabbit, such a tripped out song. Genius to make a song about alice in wonderland, everyone knew it was about drugs and she made a song out of it, it's fukin awesome
My favorite album is Crown of Creation. Some of my favorite songs are on there: Triad, The house at Pooneil Corners, If you feel, Crown of Creation... But really I love most of the Airplane's albums exept maybe for Takes off which I still haven't been able to really get into. But obviously Surrealistic Pillow is a true 1967 classic and Baxter's is a psychedelic jem. As for Volunteers it took me a while to like it but now I really do. Stuff like Hey Friedrick, Eskimo blue day, Volunteers, We can be together... just great! Now all I need is Blessed its pointed little head and I'm gonna be the happiest Jefferson Airplane fan! And what about Bark? I hardly never hear of it. What's it like?
The most bang for your money album wise = The worse of the Jefferson Airplanes album. if you only can afford 1 this is the one to get.
I own Surrealistic Pillow on vinyl (but who doesn't) and Jefferson STARSHIP'S Red Octopus on CD, which I adore. Check out that one.
