IV'ing pills, not lasting long?

I wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem.

I have tried IV'ing Hydromorphone (Dilaudid) and Oxycodone (Roxicodone) a couple times each.

First time, was 30mg Roxicodone. I barely felt a rush, because my tolerance is sky high (300mg snorted at once) so needless to say I wasn't expecting much. Got a little tingle that lasted about 10 seconds, after that I felt completely sober.

Next, was 4mg of Dilaudid. It was a little bit stronger then the Roxicodone, but not by much. A little stronger of a rush, had to sit down and was dizzy. Lasted no longer then a minute, and after that I was completely sober.

Then I tried 12mg. Same thing really....a little stronger of a rush, felt really good, but didn't last more then a minute, and was back completely sober.

Last time was the highest I have gone, at 16mg. Still wasn't amazed. It was definitely the strongest, I had to take a few steps back and sit down, and felt incredible, for about 2 minutes tops. After that, SOBER AGAIN!

Couple nights ago I tried 75mg Oxycodone, and it was about the same as 12mg of Dilaudid.

So what I am asking, is if this is normal. Does the rush from IV'ing really only last like 2 minutes, and then you are completely sober? I see people raving about Dilaudid IV, and have seen people NOD THE FUCK out, and I can't seem to get SHIT out of it.

Please, I am really looking for responses from people who do or have IV'ed, and people who have IV'ed pills more specifically. I will take answers from dope users too.

Maybe you're just not doing enough. You have QUITE the tolerance.

 

^ I must agree with the above comment. With a tolerance like that.. I think you should try banging something like 120mg of oxy or more. Just a thought.

 

Hey man, I'm sure you're aware of this, but I just wanted to drop you a cautionary note.

As your tolerance gets higher and higher (as yours obviously has) you start to tolerate the "high" factor of the oxy/dilly's but your tolerance to the side effects (most significantly the central nervous system depression which causes your lungs to shut down) doesn't increase as fast. Which means at the tolerance level you are at currently, you are riding the thin line between getting high and ODing.

So take care.. if you overdo it, you could end up in the hospital, or worse, a coffin. It isn't as thin of a line when you eat/snort pills, but when you are spiking, the line is so thin it is barely there.

I understand...I have been doing opiates for about 10 years now.

I noticed that the high from snorting/eating them has decreased as well, I was just wondering if the high from IV'ing really does ONLY LAST like 2-5 minutes....or am I just not doing a big enough dose?

I know my tolerance is up there for intranasal and oral, but you don't want to risk that shit with IV.

 

like Geneity said, it's probably you gigantic tolerance. u4ia, you've been doing opiates since u were 13? and damn man, I would love to have your supply and scripts, but would hate to have your tolerance. I guess you cant take one without the other..

 

I saw a thread on opiophile.org about how to cut down your tolerance pretty painlessly (although it takes a little while). Maybe you should try that and then give it a go? I'm sure I don't have to start a rant about needles... I hope you can be smart about this and please keep it safe, man.

Yeah, trust me, I am insanely safe when it comes to ANY sort of drug usage. I educate myself before I try new substances, and new routes of administration.

Like, when you IV herion, does the really strong rush only last 5 minutes or so?

You couldnt get me to stick a needle in my arm even if you were supplying all the drugs, had a fine ass hooker ready for me afterwards, and paid me 500 dollars. And Im serious. Im SO petrified of needles its not even funny. I even invented a word for it, its called needlephobia.

i think we all agreed that its because of your massive tollerance, I cant think of any other reason that it would happen :S

Yeah at least 30 minutes. But it depends on what opiate you're IVing of course.

But yeah you need to shoot a shitton.

I mean after awhile of doing opiates your brain starts to shut down dopamine receptors, so you'll just keep chasing the high and never get it again, and that could also be why your rushes last 5 minutes.
