I know what you mean! I can count soooo many people from my class that were pregnant at graduation, had babies at graduation, got pregnant soon after, or are pregnant now (some even for the 2nd or 3rd time). I think for that reason alone, it's a good thing that my boyfriend and I have abstained from sex until we feel more comfortable about our financial situation (man, I miss it, though...). Haha.

It's just alot of my friends are young people with children and this discussion is pretty ignorant, i know most of it was said in jest but alot of truth is said in jest.

 

well, the one thing i think i should ass to this discussion is that not all young parents are bad either. some of them are the most loving and responsible around. and there are middle aged adults that are horrible parents...so yea, age is still nothing more than a number to me.

 

tell me about it, all my friends started having kids when we were like 15. my due date would have been earlier this month, i had a miscarriage. that was lucky in a way i guess.

That's true, and I don't look down upon any teen/young parent just because they're young or teens. One of my boyfriend's best friends became a father last August at the age of 20 and he is probably one of the best dads I've known. That kid is so loved and so lucky to have Sean (and his mother, too, they've stayed together through everything and are wonderful parents).

A girl I graduated with had her baby about a month after graduation and she and her husband are only 19 and already manage the hotel here in town. They grew up in a hurry when she became pregnant.

Sadly, though, I know another young mom, 19, who did scads of drugs while pregnant, had a low birthweight child (but apparently not low enough for them to suspect anything...), and now she runs off and sluts herself around and continues her unhealthy lifestyle while her mother watches her little girl. But I can't tell you how many older mothers there are in this town that will drag their children along with them so they can buy ephedrine for their meth labs.

So, Snoopy, you're very right. It's just sad that these kids had to give up being carefree so young because they've got another little life in the balance now.
