I was buying a pack of cigs at a gas station yesterday and the woman behind the counter gave me a 5min lecture about the dangers of smoking! Why do cashiers feel the need to do this? There's a SG's warning right on the damn pack! I had to stand there and wait (nodding my head politely) because i was still waiting for her to ring it up. Between that and the petitioners bugging me daily outside of the library about making Ohio "smoke free" AS IM SMOKING, people are getting on my damn nerves!
Her voice sounded like kissinger's, so i figured she's talking from experience. Usually I cut them off though and they get huffy.
In columbus you can't smoke in restaraunts, office buildings, bars, pool halls, bowling alleys, nightclubs.... ect. You can smoke outside, but it has to be about 30ft (i think) from the building. They are trying to make it statewide now.
Yeah, i'm pissed. But all the other side has to do is present (bogus) studies on SH smoke and everyone says "why not". No one likes a smoker anyway (except other smokers).
I dont like smoking but thats extremely unprofessional of her because shes providing you with a service and she has no right to offer her opinions on products YOU are buying off HER. Go and talk to her manager.
I would have said "thank you very much, but I'm sure everyone all ready knows the dangers of smoking" (that would annoy me too)
it wont be before too long that probably most of america will be "smoke free" most cities that adopted it have had good results, and enjoy the smoke free environments of bars and restaurants. so, get used to it people.
Yall keep having all sorts of Fun in the cities. *LMAO* Out here we'll just keep building coffins - one nail at a time...
I normally Tell people how I am doing my part to help the state by paying lots of extra taxes and If people stopped smoking they would watch their taxes go up, they normally leave me alone after that
I would make some really nasty remark about how all smokers should die, but you're going to anyway. I smoked for 30 years and so far have avoided becoming a rabid antismoker. OTOH recent studies have shown that there is NO acceptable level of second-hand smoke. So smoke up peeps! Just don't do it near me.
