I have recently noticed that a lot of the people on these threads are not as nice as they once were. Everytime I read a post, someone always has to make a rude remark in response to the original message. It is sad because people come here for support and love. I thought we were a community and loved one another despite any flaws. Sorry if I am being too sensitive, I am just getting tired of people leaving unnecessary comments.

 

I'm new so i cant say if this place was all care bear like before but i think most of the stuff your talking about are lame attempts at humor or sarcasm. i think keeping it real is just as important as tending to one's feelings. so as long as their is a balanced mix this forum is going to stay relavent. in layman's terms you don't want to be wet nursed eveytime your bring up an issue you want people's opinions

 

I agree, sweetheart. I come here for discussion on the hippy way of life, and all I see is negativeness in every thread I open. It really saddens my heart. There is no greater reward than giving and recieving positiveness.

I haven't been here all that long. I just got another Ned Flanders post. People are strange. It wasn't a mean message. It just makes me wonder why people don't care for other people who do care.

i think sarcasm is generally funny, but a few of the people here on the forums take advantage of the semi-anonymity to indulge their inner shithead. don't worry about it. it doesn't take long to realize whose posts you should just disregard.

 

Yeah, out of the six years I have been around Hippyland, 2001-2002 were the best.

 

there are quite a few silly cats on here that despise hippiedom and pacifism and most everything good & are only here to try and ruin our sharing. my new thing and what i think we should all do is when we spot these people's posts just 4 nobody to acknowledge them. Ive tried drowning them with kindness or trying to help them to not be so mad at the world but theyre only bored at home and on here to be a nuisance to us. oh well, sad

 

Mike (quintuplet) and Brian (hippiejuan) started it, then Adam (baboo_type_person) and I joined him, and now everyone is just trying to be us.

Edit: Basically, what I'm saying, is that there are only about four or five assholes of merit here, and then a shitload of imitators.

I think people can state their opinion about something without being mean and judgemental but then that would be when everyone's acting all grown up. Some days even I just don't feel like being a grown up. I do like to keep to the positive side of things whenever possible.

I think you should start your own personal forum. That is, if you think you could stomach the necessity of having to ban people, I'd trust you as a moderator to keep the negativity out. I think it would give the people who are having trouble with the negativity in the rest of the forums a nice place to be.
