Ok... well i have no clue. I smoke it and all and i always thought that it wasnt good for you cuz otherwise it wouldnt be legal right? However if you think about it, cuguarets are alot worse arnt they? My friend is always saying how there are no bad side effects of weed and how it does you no harm. But if you look at the research on it through the news etc then they say it can cause mental illness.... What are your guys veiws?
It can cause mental illness. But i think thats the people who smoke like an ounce a day. And it's much worse for your lungs than cigarettes. But still, it aint as addictive as cigarettes.
Is it realy worse for your lungs? i would have thought it would be better because it doesnt contain tar.....??
i have conflicting views on this, i've smoked for about 4 years now and i've just recently quit. it did so many good things for me, it opened up my mind to many things, it made me a more chilled out person and i think if i'd never started smoking then i would be a very different and more bastardly person today. but it makes me unmotivated, when i'm smoking i'm perfectly happy to work 2 days a week so that i have just enough money to pay rent to my parents, my mobile phone contract and smoke myself silly at the weekend. i stay inside a smokey little bubble where things revolve around eighths and quarters, and i've just recently realised that i'm going absolutely nowhere. however, this isnt true for everyone, many people smoke every day and lead successful and productive lives. but what IS true for everyone is the health risks. if your friend thinks there are no health risks with weed then they are mistaken - yes, cigarettes are worse, but anything you smoke is going to be bad for your lungs, especially if you smoke weed with tobacco. not to mention the possibility of mental problems. i'm not sure whether the research into the mental risks of smoking weed is true or just crap, but have you ever seen a long term toker that was completely on the ball? i'm not saying it drives everyone mental, but i know that i've felt myself getting proggresively more stupid over the last 4 years. to be honest, i'm quite looking forward to becoming a bit more intelligent again, it should be pretty interesting. anyway, its your decision to smoke weed or not, it has good points and it has bad points, but then so does everything. just remember what the greeks said - everything in moderation. at least i think it was the greeks
I guess like everything there is no right and wrong answer... My friend smokes weed, not alot, but he smokes and i love him very very much and i just hope that it doesnt get out of control.... but everytime i mention to him to be carefully he like gets offened.... i only do it cuz i love him... im not trying to be controlling but he doesnt believe me when i say that weed can have some bad side effects... i guess he doesnt wanna believe it....
Quite the opposite, it contains a lot of tar. But thats why bongs and bubblers are good, because they filter out some of the tar.
cannabis itself is not addictive at all, its wen you smoke it with baccy, that u get atticted to the tobacco. fire fly, eat it and then it wont damage your lungs at all!yaaayyy
Lol yeh we are going to do that sometime too. However what you said about it not being addictive isnt completely true... The drug itself isnt but people can rely on the high it provides...
naaa....dont do hash brownies...it just tastes as if its not supposed to be there, y'know you wouldnt put oregano in them would you? lol. try cheese on toast with woulstershire sause or if you can b bothered spaghetti bolognaise...very nice..mmmm and you're right about psychological addiction, one of my friends spent 45mins scrounging his carpet for a one skinner's worth! hey,ive done that, but one youve made up your mind to stop, even fo a while , its easy.....until someone offers you a j..lol
what? no way.... hash brownies are great. who cares about a little taste of green.. they're usually only bite size anyway. i always have some in my freezer for emergencies.
hahaha funny shit.... if your predisposed to a mental illness then smoking dagga will only heighten your chances of developing it...i have no idea how you find out if your predisposed....i guess you look at family history....or something....anyway JUST SAY NO...
the thing is , i have an incredably sweet tooth so i usually "season" savory foods because A. i hate it when a lovely gooey chocolate brownie doesnt taste entirely like a lovely gooey chocolate brownie and B.i know ill end up completey mashed, dancing on the lawn and serenading a cat because i wont b able to stop at one dosage of lovely chocolaty goodness!!!!....so ther ya go..lol
They have a few nice recipes on the high times magazine page... http://www.420.com Haha, rasta pasta.
Actually, I think the results from some kind of research here in the Netherlands claimed that one joint is as unhealthy as ten cigarettes...
This man knows the truth. Listen to him. As for the person who says psychological addiction is for the weak, i have to say i disagree. When you have become so used to a life that involves getting heavily stoned everyday it can be extremely hard to stop. Comparing it to maturbation is bullshit. What if all your friends are fulltime potheads and don't want to stop? When you get to the stage that every fun thing you do revolves around ganj then quitting is easier said than done. Obviously i'm not comparing ganj to a real, physical addiction, but those who under estimate the pulling power of weed often get sucked into the smoking culture and find it very hard to escape. I have a hell of a lot of respect for anyone who can smoke everyday for a few years and then flat out stop. Like the chap i quoted said, it's all about moderation. A bit of weed is great, fulltime weed leads to burnout bums.
