Is there a "stoned mind" and a "sober mind" ?

ive seen the same threads a couple days in a row so i figured id throw in a subject for a bullshitting session. i thought id contribute something intellectual for a change rather them my usual "fuck you" and "search the forums bitch".

I got high as fuck with a friend recently and we were talking and i had the munchies and said "man i could eat a whole apple pie right now" he then looked shocked and told me about how he just remembered our other friend saying those exact words the week before after getting high. This coincidence led us to a discussion on If you sober then you cant remember alot of things from when you got high, but if your high then you can remember those things that happened from the last time you got high that you couldnt remember sober..

Anyone make sense out of that or have an opinion?

 

that is because somreteims memories are encoded with the element of being stoned i think. so when your sober, your memory doesnt link to stonede memories as much because youd be remembering something that sort of in a different world to what your in, but when your stoned, just being stoned can spark out other memories of being stoned.

i dunno i think its like that. just like when you go somehwere youve not been for a while, you remember lots of thigns about the place that you wouldnt if you werent there. when you get toned, it reminds you of things.

i dont think you should have trouble remembering thigns you did stoned if the event is mentioned. like ill never remember anything but if someone goes 'do you remember when this happened' ill usually remember its perfectly

 

yeah its liek the way the brain works, like how it associates things with emotions and feelings. sceintists have done lots of work on this like showin ppl pictures an pricking them with a needle, so the person assosiates the pain from the needle with the picture so wen they get pricked again later on they remeber the picture. So i gues in that way its pretty much the same for being stoned

 

hay man i know wut u mean! haha. the same thing happens to me. like wen im really stoned i wud say like the same thhings..or my friends wud say the same things and i would be like DEJA VU! But i think its because we just said them before..and when im sober, i cant really rember the things ive done or said wen im stoned..well i can remeber some HIGHLIGHTS...but not every detail, yaaa know?

 

yeah, this is an interesting topic IMO id definetley like to see some studies on if theres differences between normal remembering and stoned remembering

 

i tend to think more "out of the box" when im stoned. so it wouldnt suprise me if there was a sober and stoned mind. and about remembering things, when im sober ill never remember anything i did when i was super high. but when im high i can remember what i did. its pretty weird.

 

I cant remember stuff when im high.
