is there a right way to fill a pipe?

as the title states.it seems like i need to fill it up twice to get as high as i do when i smoke a joint.im still sorta new to the whole smoking experience.just wondering if im doing something wrong.i put as much weed as i can fit into the bowl and push it down till i cant get no more into it.seems like its gone in 3 hits.

 

small bowl big joint? haha logical explination, smoking a joint by yourself is kind of a waste of weed though, unless you clambake

 

I usually don't push it down too much, I find that makes it harder to draw smoke through the hole. Make sure you break it up a bit (not as much as you would for a joint though), otherwise you're only smoking the outside of the nug.

 

^^ yeah, dont pack your bowl too tight. you need to draw air through the hole in the bottom. corner your lighter on the bowl it seems to help me.

 

find a grinder and start grinding up your pot before you put it in the bowl, much easier, you can fit more in the bowl, and it burns much better

 

Only do this if you're using a screen.

 

does this apply to glass pipes as well?

 

if its new, i would say yes, a glass screen, but if its rezzed up then it shouldnt pull through

 

I doubt you'll need a screen if it's just a small pipe.

 

i have plenty of glass bowls and none of them need screen, i have a slide to a bong that has a huge whole in it but if you pack it right, nothing goes through. screens just unnecessary with glass pipes.

 

Plus most people use metal screens, and that just defeats one of the purposes of smoking out of glass (not smoking out of metal or plastic). The bowl on the piece just might be tiny. Don't be such a lazy stoner and just pack that shit.

 

Yeah i understand dudes problem. I thought the same thing but with blunts. I'm like wtf i thought a bowl from a pipe would be good just lilke how all these people are saying on hipforums. haha. I guess i'mma stick to blunts since the pipe aint doing it. Maybe I should get a bong but honestly i could never clear like a foot long bong. haha. man, blunts it isss.

 

I wouldn't pack it so full or as tightly. I don't fill mine all the way to the top (just about 3 1/4 of the way). Also, I cover the bowl with the lighter (you can use whatever, depending on how big your bowl is) when I'm not hitting so it doesn't burn all the weed while I'm still exhaling. Could be you're just letting it burn. I usually share my bowls with someone else, and we can get 7 + hits each from that.
Oh yeah, and then refill when you're done I guess if you're not there yet.

 

I've packed it too tight many times, but the more i smoked the less i did it lol.
i pack my bowls loose-that way, (i don't know HOW), the weed seems to clump into a giant ball and burns much better.
when it's tightly packed, though, i just torch the surface of it and the flame always goes out too quick.

he said he packs the bowl tight as he can, so why would he get only 3 hits... i think you need a bigger bowl.

how much do you guys pack into your bowls because i always get between 10-20 hits out of my bowls...and its dank too. i always have packed bowls between like .4-.6 grams. thats probably why theres not much difference between my joints and my bowls

i suggest grinding up weed sufficiant to pack your bowl. first put in a little nug like the size of a jelly bean or a little smaller then just put all the shake you grinded up on top until its full and you should get plenty of hits

 

1. just pack it a bunch of times, packing bowls is fun.

2. you CAN put whole nugs in, just don't throw them away when the outside gets black, poke it with a pencil to get to the good stuff inside.

im with you, i dont understand why people want or buy one hitter bowls, whats the point? this blower that lives down the street makes the smallest bowls for bongs iv ever seen, there TINY. who wants to take one hit and then pack it again? too much work IMO...

 

just chillin, cheifing on a fat ass bowl is nice. Big bowls FTW.
