Is it just me, or are most responsible recreational drug users really smart? It seems to me like we're all really bright individuals, we just paint over it with drugs...
i certainly wouldn't consider most people here to be responsible drug users OR very bright, given the extremely limited information i have at my disposal regarding the average forums member in these areas......i also wouldn't consider the majority of drug users i know to be in either of those categories, either. the few that i know or believe to be responsible drug users, though, i'd often say were really smart. then there are people like me who generally but not always are somewhat responsible drug users, but are decently intelligent. my addictive and impulsive personality sometimes gets the better of me (indeed i drink a lot these days....last night was the first i didnt get at least a littttle bit drunk in quite some time, i used to take pills too much, at a different time tripped too much, often i smoke too much, and so on) then again "responsible use" is a vague term subject to many different interpretations, as is the concept of intelligence.
There is probably a correlation between intelligence and responsibility, but even then I'd say there are several variables at play. i.e. addictive personalities, as mentioned above.
depends on the drug tbh. all the coke heads i know are arrogant and all they care about is coke rather than their intelligence. all the frequent extc users are too caught up in their new found emotions to care. all my stoner mates are always stoned so i dont really know if theyr intelligent probably are though, they all go reasonably good schools get reasonably good grades etc. and all the heavy drinkers are thick as shit lol. however the mushroom,acid and opiate users i know are smart as shit but they are extremely set in their views lol and u wont get round em for shit. i think if its recreational and is recreational then they still have room for intelligence if its a habit they sorta fixate on the drug.
i agree with you but the fact that we do drugs makes people believe were mentally incompetent (shit pisses me off)
I get straight A's and take all AP classes. Meh meh mehhhh. Sadly, though, none of my peers do drugs.
i pretty much aced every test up to year 8, then you can see where i drank alcohol frequently, my maths mark went from 100% in the nerd class to 35% in the nerd class.. haha.. then the next year in year 9, when i stopped drinking you can see all my marks go up to say 75%, stay the same when i was stoned every day for 6 months at school, and have been rising ever since ive began smoking about twice a week. so when i look at the 4 years of highschool passed as a kind of a graph do to with drugs, the alcohol fucked grads up terribly, being stoned nonstop kept them good but wouldve been better if i didnt smoke, and soberish is the best. but i never drank at school, so i guess it shows its even worse for me compared to thc.
