what'cha wanna know about chico? i've lived here almost a year.. i can tell ya some good and some not so good things about it.
there are two colleges. it's bicycle friendly. it's beautiful year around because of all the trees. there are squirrels a plenty.
it is a "party" town because of the two colleges.. which can be good or bad. renting a place can be easier if you're willing to live with students... try looking at www.craigslist.com yet?

i'm seriously thinking about moving to chico in april 2009 when my lease is up here. i've heard good things about chico and am interested in hearing more about it from others in the area.

yes.. tons of good coffee shops! the downtown area is really nice. it's fairly laid back... but it still is a college town.. so you got your frat boys and bleach blond bimbos mixed it. plenty of yummy places to eat.

here some sites that might help you..

    http://www.chicorec.com/

    http://www.entertainmentchico.com/

http://www.newsreview.com/chico/Home (FREE local paper that comes out ever thursday)

    http://www.chicovelo.org/riverrd.html

    http://www.cafecoda.com/index.php (my favorite coffee shop/cafe)

    http://www.zvents.com/chico-ca/events/show/81974424-volunteer-thursdays-in-bidwell-park

bidwell park is awesome! there is a HUGE swimming pool that is fed by the creek.. tons of trails good for bike riding, walking or even rollerskating.

i would strongly advise that if you are a pot smoker you get your 215 card ASAP... they can be real assholes about it otherwise.

there are places to volunteer.. just google it.

Why did you choose Chico over other locations in NorCal?

the cost of living is/was a big factor. it seems to be relatively cheap from what i've seen. i have seen apartments on craigslist in chico and rent seems to be comparable to st. paul. are there any other areas i should look at and consider? many thanks

I've been applying for work out in the areas north of SF. I work for a larger company, so looking for internal transfers too. And, of course, like so many others, I'd really like to be able to take advantage of the 215 laws out there. I really hate living in fear...

    Ukiah is on U.S. 101

My first choice would be on State Hwy 1 ... any place from Mendocino north to where hwy 1 leaves the coast to go inland to Legget.

My second choice would be on State Hwy 49 .... from the Sierra City area south to Angels City.

no way....I doubt any I-n-O has gone out of business anywhere.. they are always busy.. every one I've been to.. doesn't matter what time either

it's out there off 5 near that big shopping center.. Wal-Mart area??
    kind of the south side??

I don't eat meat all that much... but the do make great burgers... and their fries are to die for :)

lot better than BK-Wendy- Mc Crapper

all you need is a Rubio's ... mmmmm fish tacos
