jypsymoth~here, I am planning on going to college next year for Wild Life conservation. I would like it very much to not have to get loans to go, but given my situation I'll probobally have to. my question is this: If I get myself in debt to go to college how hard would it be to get out of debt. I'm lookin at apx. between 3 to 5,000 dollars a simester, with the out look of makin between 15 and 25,000 a year with my degree (just a 2 year degree). any personal stories or advice would be much apprecieated.
are you looking at Hocking tech? It doesn't sound like you would be taking on much debt at that rate, I generally think its worth it to get a degree.
I think it depends on how eager you are to be done school and working full time. I wasn't in a terrible rush, so I have taken 5 years to do a 4 year degree, and i am just finishing this spring... with savings instead of debt. The tradeoff besides the extended time is that I think you are less involved with your school if you're working as well.
If you plan on getting good grades, its definitely worth it. If you plan on getting Cs and barely passing, probably not.
the debt may be worth it if you find a job you enjoy... unfortunately i have 50k in debt and a degree in a field i dont want to work in! lately i've questioned whether it's really worth it or not...
i'd pay $5000 a year for the rest of my life to stay in school and not have to go out and get a "real" job
