Famous for writing Trainspotting, but he has better books. Anyone else read his stuff? The Acid House is my favourite so far,and Porno is pretty good. I haven't read Filth,Glue or Ecstasy due to lack of money. Anyone know if they're any good?
It's a him. I highly suggest you check him out. Though he writes like a Scottish person would talk. From Porno: "-Aw aye,I knowingly observe. I might have fuckin' well guessed. That's Spud though, can't resist any form of temptation, although I'd have tae be desperate before I'd fucking well dae rocks wi June. Funny, but I wouldn't have thought it of her, especially with the bairns aroond, but I suppose everybody's on it now,and to be fair to her, she's goat those frazzled and worn-oot crack-hoor looks tae a tee. - So how is June? I ask,not knowing why. I mean,it's not as if I particularily care." Wahey!
Name Duly Noted..... I will get to the store eventually to pick up another book....but this PC and the NET it is part of distract......
Yes. I think i've read just about everything he has in [popular] print I think trainspotting is still my fave (but remember, like the Acid House, it's written as a series of connecting short stories with the occasional novella thrown in).... Porno is prolly the "weakest" of his novels, but still pretty good....Filth is bizzarre and disturbing...... maribou stalk nightmares even morso.... Glue was prolly the "proper" novel i enjoyed most tho' Enjoyed his work for years... deffo not the best writer on the block... but i count him as one of the finest social commentators of my generation :sunglasse
