anyone else in here like this band, and knows some of their songs besides in-a-gada-da-vida. i personaly think they are like the doors without jim morrison, which is why i like them so much.

Yeah, cool band. I like them. I've got In-a-gada-da-vida and Ball, but it doesn't get better than In-a-gada-da-vida, in my opinion.

Yes the in-a-gada-da-vida album has some other great songs on there, that I like better that the title track. "My Mirage", "Most Anything that you Want"", "Flowers and Beads", "Are you Happy" - those are all great tunes, all in all some of my favorite 60's music.

have the lights turned down a bit while your listening to it. it enhances the whole thing.

I think the same... in fact i pass last winter a real metamorphosis phase....i was really into thoses songs as "New Day" "Stone Believer" or "Slower than gun" are some of my favourite of what was their real last album (70) ...
In fact i regret that the leader organist leave the band in mid 71 just when they were planning enter to the studio to record the follow up...

Metamorphosis is probably my best Iron Butterfly album 'cause the band evolve their sound once more ... this album include two new fresh guitarist (Mike Pinera and the future Captain Beyond guit. El Rhino) and as definitly a more loud blues rock psychedelic sound...

I've got all their album xpt "Ball" (just before Metamorphosis)...
For all people interested in the Iron Butterfly discography ...there's 4 real album (67-70) then a part of the band reform in 1975 without their original leader for two album... this time for a flight without grace...
"Time waits for no one" (R.S 1974)

yeah they diserve more than this... somebody compare them too the Doors and it's completely right... and it's even more surprisin' that they don't reach the success of the Doors ...
All Fan of the Doors all around the world don't know what they're missin' in Iron Butterfly
Ok there's no giant peotry a la Morisson or there's not a man of the charisma of Jim in Iron Butterfly but musically it's easy to take pleasure listenin' to it...

And Jim is dead something that none of Iron Butterfly decided to do...
Is it from here that came most of the difference of actual success between both bands ?

Because in late 60's commercialy both bands were equal...and a lot of people forgot this
