I have been using iOS for a while now and I think it`s better than Droid`s entire setup. Performing tasks seem faster on the iOS system. What do you guys think?

I think android OS is much more diverse and there's much more room for improvement. The newer top of the line android devices easily match and some beat the iPhone 4s in hardware and capability.

To me it seems like the only way apple is going to improve on their phone is by continuing to add little novel features like siri in order to put out a completely new model and continue to suckle at the apple consumer base money teet.

I just don't think there's any way for apple to keep up when android has so many different companies developing handsets for them.

They've done a remarkable job so far. The iPhone 4s is no doubt, a great phone. I just don't think it has the same potential for improvement that android OS has.

Really there's such a huge selection of great phones today that trying to decide which is best is sort of silly. They're are at least 3 touch screen phones for every big provider that will do everything you need from them, reliably, and quickly, with little trouble.

I have an EVO and that's not by any means a new smartphone, but it does everything I need without fault. It's the first phone I've had that I don't foresee needing to upgrade any time soon.

I think it depends on what you want it to do for yourself. One is open source because when the cat was out of the Bag Google, specifically Eric Schmidt was going to get slammed hard by the DOJ thus they released the code to the open source community. You can root an Android phone which for geeky types who like to tinker with gadgets is golden, but the security is non existent. You would never see anything like the menacing air-push on the iOS platform. I had an enterprise client this week who couldn't figure out why he was reviving a Phone solicitations all day long all of a sudden out of the blue. I tracked it to an app He downloaded, a program that in the TOS said it could read all the information on his phone and use it. The app took his phone number and his whole phone book and sent it back to the developer which was sold on a list to telemarketers. This is the down side of android IMO.

iOS is a closed system, jail-breaking an iphone is a pain in the ass when you update the OS or update it. There's 31% more developers working on iphone apps then Android which makes a difference in whats available to you. However, because of the App store system you're not going to get the equivalent of a Trojan stealing your phone book and selling it to every telemarketer on the planet. You're in a closed eco system and if you want to fly right by apples terms of service that's where you stay.

Personally, I have one of each. My android phone is rooted with a couple of different OS mods on it. While my iphone is no longer jail broken and runs perfect for what I want it to do which is be a studio controller using the AC7 app. in my recording studio. There's a lack of games for Android compared to iphone, the android games are what was out in the app store the first 6 months.
