what documentaries have you watched lately? i watched "did cooking make us human" the other day and i thought it was good, but they could have done with fewer chewing food closeups.

my two favorites are "parallel lines" by Nina Davenport...about a road trip a girl takes back to NYC after 9/11

and "dying at grace" ..by Alan King ....a documentary following a few people who agreed to be filmed until the moment they die after being diagnosed with terminal illness

and Im surprised I remember the names of the people who made them...that alone reminds me of how good they were

Z for Zachariah was really good, but also terribly depressing. Soul crushingly depressing. It's great, but don't watch it unless you're in a mood to cry and ruin your day.

Nova's special "Becoming Human" was really good too, OP reminded me of it since in one part they focus on the introduction of cooking to our evolution.

I can vouch for Home, it's great, anyone who likes the Planet Earth series will love it.

Also any documentary on North Korea is always fascinating.
