In a perfect world..

In a perfect world, in your perfect world more specifically, what would you be doing right now? What would be happening around you?

I'll go with something simple... I'd be cuddling and getting a massage. Some nice music would be playing, and I'd burn some incense. It'd also probably be raining.

 

I would like to be bck at my grandparent's cabin in the woods of Minnesota with all the family around....and laying in the big comfortable bed they had there.....My grandmother would be baking a pie. My dad and grandfather would be speaking Finnish.....my mom would be talking to my brothter and me about something.....I can hear my brother's cute voice still as a little boy........oh, and it would be ice to have it raining ...and hearing that sound onthe roof and whtever that was metal outside and feeling all safe and comfy inside..... can still smell the wood of that cabin. My grandfather built it, as he was a master carpenter.....

 

I wouldn't be sober so much lol...I need to go to sobriety rehab.

I would be at the cottage we stay at at the beach. We'd have just gotten back from a day on the beach- having gotten lots of sun and sitting on the screened-in porch on rocking chairs looking at the squirrels outside eating peanuts that we threw out there.... I'd have a decent book to read beside me and we'd be relaxing a little bit before we get baths and showers.. talking about where we are gonna go eat that night...seafood, most likely hardshell crabs. My son would be playing right outside the porch in the sand area out there and the weather would be perfect and everything nice and calm and peaceful.

Mmmmmmmmmm...sounds good. I love going out to eat near the beach for seafood...Love seafood anyway...Now, I am hungry.

 

At first I would say there would be no need for money, but then life would be kinda pointless wouldn't it?

I'd say in a perfect world it wouldn't take so many mistakes to learn how to make it!

My perfect world...

A cabin alone in the woods somewhere with just my lady, two cats and a dog. Self reliant. Solar panels on the roof, big ol garden out back, chicken pen round there somewhere. Maybe a good fishing stream near by. Cabin full of books. Lots and lots of books. My typewriters, and my guitar. And we'd do nothing except what we felt like doing.

 

Man, everyone is getting cabbins or cottages. I should have mentioned I'd be in a cabin in my op, haha.

 

You could get a cabbage. It's somewhere between a cabin and a cottage.

 

A penthouse in 30 Rock! Looking out over the center of the universe....my company would now own many corporations and I'd be a billionaire doin whatever the fuck I want, whenever the fuck I want and however the fuck I want and make mad money doin' it!

 

For starters, I would not be at work. I would never have to come back to this shitty job again. Besides that, I think lunarverse stole my perfect world, or perhaps I am stealing his. A simple cabin or a nice little hobbit hole built into the earth, a vegetable garden. The weather exactly like it is today, sunny and low 70s. I would be tending to the goats or the chickens right now. Maybe I would have an omelet with goat cheese for dinner.

 

I would be healthier than I feel.

 

Me too. Hardshell crabs... a lobster roll.... lobster....steamed clams...sushi...scallops... could go on and on and on..

 

I would be happy in work and love and live by the sea.Nothing bad would ever happen to anyone ever,and I dream of ending these dreams of mine...

I absolutely need to live by the ocean one day---even if it has to be in a modular home, a trailer, or even a camper. If I have to just live at a campground by the shore in a camper when I'm older, kids all grown up and stuff, fine. But it will happen because I am a damn dolphin and absolutely need to be there.

 

i would be in my workshop, attached to my micro-house, surrounded by forest and lots of friendly little furry creatures going about their unmolested lives, or going for a walk in it.

actually at the moment, i would probably be making myself something to eat, and or, on my way to get groceries, which would consist of walking about the same half i mile i do now, but through forest and gardens, to a little stopping shelter for the narrow gauge mini-rail. this shelter would be constructed, perhaps somewhat rustically, of local materials. there would be a map of the system on the wall, with little l.e.d.s showing the position of trains on it. and a call plate. that is a large friendly button to push, that would alert the automatic dispatching system that there was someone there waiting to board. yes there would be a security camera, and a way to talk with the human dispatcher if you needed to. there might also be a good food vending machine, that didn't take coins or bills, but instead read your thumb print, so it would only dispense to the same person once every so many hours or once a day.

at any rate, the little train would come along, it would be solar powered by the way, in one sense or another. well not directly just solar. directly it would run on stored energy, but the charging system would be ultimately solar on board, or from the sustainably powered grid at stopping places, or by shaped induction or similar technologies. on boarding, next to the seat, a small keypad, like those on a bank machine and a small monitor. with the keypad you could look up destination codes on the monitor, or if you already knew yours, just punch it in.
having done this, the little train will automatically stop and let you off, at the destination you have selected.

this location too, much like the setting of your home, will be dominated by trees and gardens and a natural like setting. unless of course, as some of them might, located actually inside of a large multi-function kind of a mall.

the grocery shopping experience might be much as it is now. hope you remembered to bring your canvas bags though, or they'll sell you one if you didn't. sorry, all out of both paper and plastic. the idea of disposable everything went out of fassion 30 years ago in this world.

the trip home of course is a reverse of the same, though the rout travelled might not be, as the automatic routing and dispatching system, responds in real time, to demand, much as might an elevator.

and speaking of 'elevators', in a large multifloored mega-structure such as that mall, they wouldn't just go up and down, but travel every which way.

other then a very small number of such structures, even the largest of cities, would look more like a village of villages.

the 3d printer in my workshop would be do finer detail and print it faster then any did a few years ago back in the 2010s.

oh, we're using a different calendar now too. sometime around 2021 we started using a calendar, that no one is quite sure why, started in 1844, so the year now is getting pretty close to the year 200 on it, but the main reason, is that it has 19 months if 19 days, with the months devided into three 6 day weeks. most of the kids don't remember why they're called months, as its no longer based on the moon, its completely solar.

speaking of the moon and bases, yes there are colonies on the moon and mars, the latter some joker started calling barsoom, and the name seems to have stuck, at least for the rapidly developing regions.
