My dad thinks that if I get dreads people will think I am some stupid Pot smokin' drugy. Is this true? do you guys do drugs?
i'm not voting because it doesn't matter what i do or don't do. some people with dreads do drugs. some people without dreads do drugs. some people with cancer do drugs. some people without cancer do drugs. some teachers do drugs. some teachers don't do drugs. some police do drugs. some police don't do drugs. some senators do drugs. some senators don't do drugs. some gardeners do drugs. some gardeners don't do drugs. some pastors do drugs. some pastors don't do drugs. i mean, give me a break. is this a serious question? tell your dad to get his head out of his ass...people of all walks of life do "drugs" (i'm assuming you are speaking of pot alone). he's being really ignorant.
"i mean, give me a break. is this a serious question? tell your dad to get his head out of his ass...people of all walks of life do "drugs" (i'm assuming you are speaking of pot alone). he's being really ignorant." chill yo my dad just wants best for me. h e seems to associate them with the 70's and the pot smokin' rastafarians. I mean he was alive then.
I do smoke pot, but it has nothing to do with me having dreads. They are two very separated things. However, I have gotten plenty of comments about the two being related. It's just a stereotype, and I don't really care.
it is an ignorant assumption. who cares what people think about you anyways? if you care about that, then you shouldn't probably have dreads.
well generally I don't care... I wear nothiong but tie dye ever... but I dont want people to think I do drugs 'cause in my opinion drugs just aint cool
i know tons of great people who do drugs and tons of terrible people who dont do drugs and tons of people who wear tie dye who people think do drugs based on preconceived notions alone. and tons of people who do dreadlocks but havent touched anything. spot on
some people may think you are a "pot smoking drugy" but then again, they may think that because of your tie dye. don't worry what others think and doing drugs and being a pot smoking druggy can be two entirely different things.
yeah life's way too short to worry about what people think about you if you like your dreads then those people should understand them and still accept you for them it shouldn't matter what you look like there's way more to life then peoples looks media and culture just brainwashes people to think everyone should look a certain way or do this and do that people are too judgemental i mean look an albert einstien look at the way he looked but i bet he didn't give a shit he had better stuff in life to worry and think about /rant i dunno lol peace
I used to worry about what people thought, but I decided that I worried about it a lot more than people thought about it. (If that makes sense?) Be YOU! and celebrate that. Also tell your Dad that not all dreadlocked people do illegal drugs. Some are drunks
I smoke pot, drop acid, and frolick with the shrooms. Damn proud too. =D Not everyone that does 'drugs' are degenerate 'druggies'. (nor should they be treated as criminals, but that's a whole other rant in itself) And hairstyle doesn't have much to do with it anyway. People are always gonna judge you, and they'll judge you with or without dreads. But worrying about what people think of you is the most self-destructive thing you'll ever bring upon yourself.
i dont think you should get dreads, you care what other people think way to much...and why exactly do you want dreads btw? Do you have a reason or no ?
I dont do drugs on any kind but since having dreads i get asked quite often if i want to buy weed. Its been over 2 years since i last smoked any illegal substances. Id like to point out that i was sporting a shaved head backthen also...stick that in your stereotype pipe and smoke it! tbh you will be sterotyped in one way or another whatever you do, just unfortunate you will come across as a lazy, dirty, druggy, hippy if you have dreads. Its how YOU portray yourself to people (attitude, body language, etc) that makes any difference.
