Can someone PLEASE give me a step by step lesson on how to start my seeds off? I have read HEAPS but I just can’t get them going. I ccurrently have four or five seeds germinating between damp toilet paper(the paper toweling was out, the stuff im using is very similar tho), and they have been there for about 24 hours. They have swelled up quite a lot. I have tried this method before. Last time I had some seeds in paper towels for about a week, but they where just really swelled up and there was no root appearing. I think I may have wet the paper towel to much. As I was saying can someone PLEASE give me a step by step lesson on how to start my seeds off.
You also need to keep them warm. Put them in a carton without the lid on and set them on top of a cable box or DVD player. That will keep them warm. I suggest you go to www.cannabis.com and do some research, its a great site with a ton of useful information
I already gave you step by step instructions on your other thread about 5 topics down on "Trying to Germinate". I think I was post #4 dated March 2nd. Maybe you're keeping the whole thing too wet! The seeds need oxygen to germinate also, so keep them up out of the water. Like I said on the other thread, make a "thick matress" to keep the seeds above water and just cover with a single layer of paper. The seeds just want to stay moist not wet! The only problems I can think of are low temperature (normal room temperature should be fine), extra bright light (normal house light is ok), bad water (some people use distilled water to germinate, just make sure the water you use is ph balanced!). The only other problem might be the toilet paper you're using, it might have a trace of something in it that's toxic to the seeds. If that's the case you might be better off just planting the seeds into a pot about 1/4-1/2 an inch (6-12mm) deep.
