Guten Tag! Been trapped in the work-home-work running mill forever now, and even before that, I was trapped in the education-industrial-complex, which is probably the worst thing to ever happen to me. Right up there with paying taxes. So, it feels GREAT to learn something independently again. My cousin, who's been living in Munich for about 10 years, is out here on vacay, and teaching a bunch of us family and friends for a below-market price. I find German to be a beeeautiful language, and I hope to also learn Japanese one day. What have you been learning independently of late? Genau!

I've gotta learn some German. My grampa speaks it, but I've just never taken the time. Keeping my French up to date is enough of a responsibility...

I'm just starting to learn German, as well. Using the Duolingo program. I have Rosetta Stone but I'm finding Duolingo more portable.
I would like to learn German. I've been brushing up on my French. I've taken several years of French and at one point I could read it pretty fluently (although I was never great at speaking it) but I'm pretty rusty now.
I've dabbled in Japanese but it's tough to get a handle on the different forms of writing. You gotta learn one word, three different ways. There's a good deal more of learning by rote. That's part of why I jumped over to German. It's so intuitive because of how Germanic English is.
