I'm In Hell!!!!!!!!!

So, Ike came through this morning, fallen trees and power out pretty much everywhere. We dont have electricity either, except for one lightbulb in one lamp and its a very low level of electricity.
It is almost pitch black save for very few streetlights and some businesses the have Generators.
There is no breeze to speak of, Its hot, humid and sticky. nothing except the shell station is open which had a line for gas that went under the freeway and around the feeder. sirens every 10 seconds, and an 8-8 curfew.
We had sausages and grilled onions with mixed veggies for dinner. lol and we hosed ourselves down in the driveway to go to an un-easy hot sleep.
I have an ice pack in a kerchief tied around my head with the ice pack on the nape of my neck and my head practically out the window.
Since we have no power, I will try to not be on here since I have about a battery and a half that has to last me for at least another 5 days at the most I hope. News says it could be weeks without power.
worst of all, Im expected at work tomorrow morning. but its ok coz old lady has food and we dont here at the house. lol
Ill be back when I have power bitches.

I remember the great blackout of....2000 and something. 5 maybe.

I peed glass that year, peed glass for a week straight. Thats not true, but the power did go out for a couple days.

I remember being out of power for about 10 days from an ice storm in MD in 1994 maybe. I don't recall when. I had a lot of fun though.

 

That sucks, at least you didn’t get flooded out like lots of the people.

 

3rd day down without power. Least it got cooler. yeah, Im in Houston, which is about 2-3 hours inland.. I sent Jeremy, carrie, and Brian some pics from my neighborhood. maybe they will share. from the Look around town it could be weeks. Later guys.

 

Is that where it was so cold that all the trees were falling down onto the powerlines under the weight of the ice? Sounds like it was terrifying.

ok, today was kind of fun. I got both my batteries fully charged by the good grace of my neighbors with car chargers. All the neighbors were out cleaning up. Its a mess man. I didnt really get to take a Look around old ladys street. Its crazy. Ill take pics now that I have a full battery. service still sucks. took about 5 min. fot this page to upload.
My neighbor had to go get ice from fema for me because old lady's family doesnt give a shit enough. I called her daughter when I got my phone back and I tore her a new one. I came back sunday afternoon, and didnt have time to check old lady out, but last night she was covered in sweat, Puke and shit. She got two bedsores in the three days I was gone because of othergirl's incompetence. she is sooooooo fired. I threatened to leave if she wasnt fired. I gota get shit back together because she's too lazy? fuck that. She had shit in her diaper that got crusty it was in there so long. Thats neglect. Ive kept her bedsore free for 2 fucking years. Three days?! nay, two and a half!!!!
I told old lady's kid that i wasnt gonna get salmonella because she didnt feel like going to get ice, nor was I gonna starve since she didnt have any canned food. She thinks everything will be back open and working regularly tomorow. It will be at least another week.
Im so pissed Yall. But like Brian said, at least I have weed.
Everyone on this block who knows old lady, and its most of em, are pissed that a 99 year old woman first off, stayed in town with a hurricaine coming, but without a generator or a family member here.
So, now Im high, its fixing to be nightfall, Ima go cook and light the hurricaine lamps. and probably smoke more.. lol

 

what's your relation to old lady? Did you used to take care of her?

It's sad what people will do/not do for someone who cannot defend or speak out for themselves.

I take care of the old lady, no relation, this is what I do. I had othergirl fired today and looking for a replacement. her bedsores are better and we got her some secondskin bandages. the nurse has been by to see her. i think old lady's daughter is gonna press charges on othergirl.
we got hooked up to the powerlines today so now we wait for the power company to get to us. There is power a few blocks away in every direction so hopefully it wont be long.
Got some Beer today.
Reception still sucks big crusty balls, but I have my precious music so its ok.
