do you think he would be in as much trouble as michael vick is??? the black community thinks that if it was a white quarterback, he would not be chastized as much as michael vick has been..... here they go again claiming racism and double standards in this country...... oh boy

and I see these black folks comparing what michael vick did to what certain people do in the country (hunters)........ how can you even compare?? they claim its acceptible to hunt and kill deer, but michael vick cant fight dogs????? but what vick was doing was torturing dogs!! huge difference. hunters shoot and kill deer, yes..... but thats more humane than what he was doing. most hunters use the meat as well.

 

if peyton manning got caught fighting dogs, it would be a bigger shock. hes a good guy and dont get in any trouble and all that stuff. i bet theres something he does,, but michael vick has always had in and out with the law so its not so unexpected with him.

i think they would be in the same amount of trouble, with a different kind of media frenzy.

this is one of, if not THE lamest comeback i've heard to this horrible story...what if peyton (or Brady which i heard lots of on bosotn sports radio) did it? so lame...Vick and his crew did it, dont' compare it to another person.

I think the whole issue is that there are certain people (sports entertainers and athletes) who get paid way too much money for what they do....... and they have to spend their money on something, so they become menaces to society. its sad really...... I think the violence, the sodomy, and the drugs would be less of a problem if they would get paid like normal hardworking folk.

the thing that pisses me off the most about Vicks crime is that they got stray dogs and threw them in with the fighters to get killed for training

The fact that somewhere a little kid is looking for his dog and here is is getting ripped apart by some vicious pit bull makes me want to see him in prison for a long time

You're thinking of these so-called "black leaders" (and I'd love to know who elected them) like the always anti-semetic Al Sharpton and that asshole Jesse Jackson (yes, I just called the Rev Jesse Jackson an asshole. Get over it).

They play the race card because it is ineffective at solving social issues but great at getting long-term PUBLICITY. Let's remember these are the same men who supported Rodney King and incited young African Americans to beat caucasians in public, to riot, to burn Korean businesses with Korean families still inside them, yet when Ray Lewis was wrongly arrested for murder they remembered the albatross of OJ Simpson and ran the other way...

These men are not "the black community" these are weasels who love being in front of a camera. Nothing more. They support Michael Vick because he had a squeaky-clean reputation that was a veil covering up something dark and evil and it was apparently common knowledge in some circles that Vick and his people could arrange a dogfight anywhere and anytime you wanted it.

man, i just want him to do his time, pay his penalty. i always liked him. i felt somewhat betrayed. but wtf can you do? once he has paid his debt to society, that IT. give him another chance. but it's not the NFL's job to rehabilitate him. he should have to prove himself all over again.

 

well such double standards DO still exist. and whether or not he would be, even if he were a white chicken farmer, street sweeper or corporate c.e.o., the punishment ought to be about the crime, not the the charicter, or anything else, about the person commiting it, other then possibly extenuating circumstances, whatever those might actually be.
