    First up!

Remember the girl from Mississippi that wanted to bring a girl to prom, i.e. she was a lesbian(in case it wasn't obvious) and the school flipped shit and just canceled the prom all together because aside from the lesbian issue, they wouldn't accept a girl wearing a tuxedo.

Well this is how it goes
    1. Courts rule school is fucked up and violated the girls rights, but school says it's too late to
    2. ACLU gets offered money to put on prom for school, but from a severely atheist group, but rejects it probably in a sane attempt to keep the peace.
    http://blog.al.com/live/2010/04/aclu_lesbian_prom_monster_creature.html
    3. SCHOOL PUTS ON FAKE FROM FOR THE GIRL THAT 8 OTHER PEOPLE SHOW UP TO WHILE THE SCHOOL, KIDS AND PARENTS OF KIDS CONSPIRED TO MAKE A "REAL" PROM. YES, PARENTS OF CHILDREN CONSPIRED WITH THEIR KIDS TO EXCLUDE OTHER CHILDREN TO MAKE SURE THERE BE NO GAYS AT THEIR KID'S PROM.
    http://gawker.com/5509819/did-a-mississippi-school-stage-a-fake-prom-for-a-lesbian-and-her-date

Sooooooo, if that wasn't enough, this school district is really trying to see itself sued out of existence, at the same time the prom fiasco started happening at the same exact school.....
Step 4. Ban transsexual girl from being allowed to attend school.
    http://www.bilerico.com/2010/04/a_prom_and_pretty_ugly_things.php
I posted that article and not the original one specifically because it's a scathing scolding of the fact the LGBT community generally has a really fuckin hard time standing up for the T. They throw a shit storm over the fact a girl is not allowed to wear a tuxedo to prom, yet where were they, and Ellen, and ect when someone who feels like a girl and is trying to live their life as one so they don't hate themselves gets told to fuck off, you don't deserve and education. Does this girl look like a distraction to the learning environment to you?

annnnnnnnnnd, what's next, what could possibly be next?!?!?

Alabama still spankin' the asses of sexually matured girls.
(bet that got your attention huh?)
    http://annistonstar.com/view/full_story/6892751/article-What-not-to-wear-?instance=home_lead_story

    And, CNN reports
Now the thing is, because of Alabama's asinine rules regarding making up school work when suspended, and this approaching the end of the school year in the good deal of the south, taking the suspension would've probably resulted in a severe grade drop, so in the end the paddlin' was the better choice, which leaves the question.
Girls, and guys who had girlfriends when they were 18, how would you like this man paddling your/your g/f's ass ironically because she was deemed looking to sexy at prom? (insert Freud joke here)

Yes, America still hands out corporal punishment to its kids. The school fuckin sounds more like a bad cheaply made porno then a school. Honestly I think the most hilarious thing would've been if all the girls started moaning when taking the paddling. Spanking a naughty girl for being too sexy, that's not sexual, nope. Not at all.

And what's next? What could possibly be next you ask??
Reagan killed Hitler with his bare hands! Historical revisionism, Texas style

Now why this is a really big deal outside of just Texas(aside from the fact Texas has the 2nd largest population in the country), Texas is the nation's largest textbook buyer and often sells them second hand eventually to poorer districts in other states.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/13/education/13texas.html
This man is a dentist, not a historian. He thinks children need to be taught about how violent blacks are, but then goes on to say that republicans deserve credit for helping civil rights. You racist assholes don't deserve credit for anything. He completely ignores how the republican party of the civil rights era is NOT the party that exists today.

Again, a fucking real estate agent! My only response would be, the first fucking amendment. Seriously, this is mind boggling.

Talk to some kids from Texas too, I don't know what they teach, but they literally believe Texas was neutral during the civil war and that Texas still has a right to secede from the union.

The north and west just need to secede from the south.

I'll be back with more as the south further continues its quest to be a third world evangelical, historically blind, gay hating, tea bagger paradise.

Cause you know, McCarthy wasn't that bad.

    *NEW*
Oklahoma is so militant and overexcited to strip rights away from gays and lesbians so they can not cooperate with federal investigators in crimes against them that they voted by accident to strip away protections for race and religion instead.

Yes and the people are nice to interact with, difference is the north isn't rewriting history, paddling children, and kicking people out of school for being trans. See, that's the main difference.

Oh, and also, having an entire town of "adult" parents and the school itself plan out a fake prom making sure no gays go to the real prom they really thought that no one would find out about.

God, I can't wait to see that school district sued out of existence, judges reeaaalllly don't like when you shit like that, regardless of their politics.

Also see, Texas ruining education across America.

    So in summary:
    1. The entire state of Texas is trying to rewrite education that will have a huge impact across the country.
    2. Mississippi towns break the law repeatedly to make sure a girl can't wear a tuxedo to prom and a trans kid can't go to school period.
    3. Alabama still hands out corporal punishment in public schools, at least they did it in a hilariously ironic way.

Well, I grew up in Georgia for 20 years and never had any experience with any of these things.
Not that I'm saying these aren't problems, but regional prejudice and blanket statements don't really do much to alleviate them.

No, they don't, but at the same time these are allowed to continue all over the south because mainly of how rural it is, it can literally tell the entire world to fuck off on opinion since it's so insulated. Getting the country as a whole to see things like this further puts pressure on the south to not act like its still 1945.

    What is Ellen?Fucking Captian Save-a-dyke?

Give the chick a break, she's not a fucking civil rights leader. Just a gay person on TV.

But yeah, back to the point. The School was wrong. But I've been told I couldn't wear what I want plenty of times. So because I'm not a minority of any kind it's okay for them to tell me I can't express myself?

I don't know. Where do you drawl the line? What is the line? Who's standing where? Life is fucked. That's all I know.

Actually Ellen is one of the best known LGBT activists there is, and it's just super ironic given the fact this happened at the same exact time at the same exact place. It's part of a long running complaint that the LGB part of the acronym constantly fails to do anything to support the T unless it somehow works out in favor or they get forced into it by trans activists.

And the girl wasn't breaking the dress code, if she went in men's clothes dressed in shorts and a tanktop then yea, she'd be breaking the same rules boys have to follow, but she wasn't, a tuxedo falls into the dress code regulations.

But plus, a court ruled the school was in the wrong, and in response the school further knowingly broke the law with the help of conspiring adults to throw a fake prom for her while all the other kids went to the real prom.

At least this school didn't paddle this girl's ass for breaking the dress code.

Oh, and denied education to trans kid
    http://www.bilerico.com/2010/03/trans_student_suspended_from_school_and_chased_out.php
This has nothing to do with life not being fair, not making $40 an hour like some guy on an assembly line isn't fair, denying people of their rights, not just what we're calling rights, what courts have ruled numerous times are rights is criminal.

Also, are you a white heterosexual male without really long hair? If so, congratulations, you are literally part of the most privileged group of society.

    *edit*
Also for the record, I don't hate the south as a whole, give me credit guys, I've met many great people from the south. It's just these things all happening together combined with the rise of the tea baggers with an election coming up, well, I think it's important to motivate people with shock.

Join the club, poor masses united. It's just that "life isn't fair" thing ticked me off specifically because it reminded me of tea bagger dogma who would rather have us and the country go hungry and starve to death then have a food stamp program, unemployment program, ect.

Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: [to Igor] Now that brain that you gave me. Was it Hans Delbruck's?
    Igor: [pause, then] No.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Ah! Very good. Would you mind telling me whose brain I DID put in?
Igor: Then you won't be angry?
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: I will NOT be angry.
    Igor: Abby Someone.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: [pause, then] Abby Someone. Abby who?
    Igor: Abby Gender
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: [pause, then] Abby Gender?
Igor: I'm almost sure that was the name.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: [chuckles, then] Are you saying that I put an ambigender brain into a seven and a half foot long, fifty-four inch wide GORILLA?
[grabs Igor and starts throttling him]
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Is that what you're telling me?

"Sex Education" is a series of scenes that charts Josephine's growing up and "learning about sex" and the lack of relevant sex education for gender queer people. Using a combination of spoken word, comedy, performance art, dance and music, she presents a series of "lectures" on subjects like: "Early Encounters of the Sexual Kind", "University: The Age of Experimentation", "Politics of Sexuality: Becoming a Master of Gender" and "Revelation and Revolution: Coming of Age"

    You've gone over the edge.

Don't forget that we still have New Orleans, Atlanta, and Miami.

Unfortunately, when rural fundamentalists feel pressured to change, they become more stubborn, angry, and motivated to action.

In 1969 I moved from Georgia to Cleveland, Ohio. After living in a segregated society all of my life I was expecting to see a happily integrated city with people of all colors dining and socializing with one another. Ya know, it was them Yankees who came down south and told us that we needed to integrate.

Well, to my shock and dismay, the entire city was more segregated than the deep south ever was. Every ethnic group on the globe had it's own neighborhood. I lived there for 5 years and in that time I traveled all over the Cleveland area, which, even then was huge. And, when I got outside of the inner city, I found that life was more integrated and the facade of the old neighborhoods of the inner city were holdovers of a time long past.

My point is, you can't judge an entire city, much less an entire region based on the appearance or even the actions of a few people or even a few isolated areas. I see the gang problems of the big northern and western cities on the news, would that indicate that everyone in these regions are brutal gangsters? Is everybody in Iowa a farmer?

I'm not going to defend the actions of the people in these stories, but these are not the views of everyone in the South, but rather, the actions of people who are extremely conservative bigots who can be found all over this country. The divisiveness of today's politics and the rise of the TeaBagers has energized a resurgence of hatred and bigotry everywhere.

This is not a Southern thing, it's a conservative mentality.
