today i watched a sunset for the first time in my life. and it was sweet. as i was walking across the field, a big ass rabbit came hoping across the field with the sunset all shining through the trees in the background and shit, and i had a tear in my ey. BUT THEN, a big ass hawk snatched his ass right off his tail! and i was like what the fuck? i didnt expect a damn hawk to be diving and shit right beside me and stuff. so that was pretty fun. so i sat on a dead tree that was tangled on a barbed wire fence and was suspended over the side of a little ridge and watched the sun sink behind the forrest of pine trees. < fucking poetry right there. i was there for about thirty seconds when i got attacked by a mother fucking blue tailed lizard. i tried to catch him but he was too fast. then i came in and made plans with my buddy for the weekend. now i can go listen to the crickets, because that's fucking life right there. rich people can't hear the crickets, i can be broke as fuck and here the crickets, and i'm a rich man. the end.
Sunsets rock. Watching them on the beach of the ocean is the absolute best though. Correction; watching them high on a beach on the ocean is the best. Totally rocks, and you feel a newfound appreciation for nature, and quite profoundly connected to it. I sit on my roof and smoke some nights, while watching the sun go down and the moon come up. Cool shit indeed.
This is by far one of the best statements I've ever read, anywhere, by anybody. Thank you for sharing your story Rebel, so much truth scattered amongst your fleeting thoughts
cool man, would have loved to have seen that hawk snatch tha rabbit. I love siting out here and watching the bald eagle that lives nearby swoop down into the fields.
first sunset?? At 17? That's fucking crazy. I really did like the part about the crickets though, rich people here industry in place of nature.
yeah crickets are god's music, in the of the middle of the night, just sit out there listen to the crickets and it puts me right in my place, that's how I meditate.
I dont know if you are familiar with the infinite depth behind the concept of the sound Om, or Aum, but the first level of picking up on this creative permeating sound is likened to honey bees, or crickets.
OH yea, I experienced exactly the same thing last night. I became aware of every individual gust of wind, every sound and just meshed it together, and it made the mostt beautiful music I can't describe it!!
Ive never watched the sunset and i want to so bad. I want to go to a field with a blanket and weed and just watch the sunset. It would be so nice and relaxing.
