...to get an Xbox 360 Alright, now keep the fanboydom OUT of the tread please. I need good answers, lol. So I've had my PS3 for like a couple years and I never really liked ANY of the games on it. The exclusives? I could care less. Resistance is crappy, so is Resident Evil. Haze was a disappointment (though still fun) and online it sucks balls compared to Halo. GTA's have moved over to Xbox, even exclusively. Motorstorm is pretty cool but it's not worth an entire system. I never really cared for MGS. I could care less about Playstation Home. It's so pointless. There is literally NOTHING that's for PS3 that I couldn't get for Xbox (that I can think of). And you can hook up your iPod to it and play your own music in gamesn (that allow it) and stuff, which is sweet. Xbox 360 has most of the games first. And a lot more exclusives that are actually good imo. I really liked Bioshock, and was thrilled when they finally released it for the PS3. And of course there's fucking Halo 3, which is literally 95% of the reason I want the system. Xbox Live is way nicer than PSN (it should be, because you have to pay for it). Besides that I already have Live for Halo 2, which I play a lot. This isn't a spur of the moment thing. I've been thinking about this for months. But there is one huge problem with this idea. I have Rock Band and RB2 and ALL the peripherals, and like 75 sownloaded songs (like 150 bucks worth). That's pretty much what's been stopping me. Like if I sold RB and RB2, the guitars, the mic, and the drums, how much you think I'd get? Ot's still like 170 new. And what would happen with the songs? I think I'm losing all my money on those. Unless I sell my PS3 on eBay and make it a note. I'm having a really hard time deciding if I'd even buy it again, because I haven't played it in months. However, I feel like if I sell it I'm all of a sudden going to want to get into that again. I'm scared, lol. Also, I'm thinking maybe I'll call Game Stop and ask how much I can get for the PS3 (It's 80GB and backward compatible, and I hear the new one's aren't), Rock Band stuff, and the few games I have. I'm, well aware trading in games and stuff is a rip-off if they're even like 2 months old. I was leaning more towards eBay. I saw my Ps3 going for 300-400 on there since they're not BC anymore. All thoughts welcome.
Honestly? I'd just save up the money and get an Xbox while keeping the PS3. If for some reason that just isn't an option, that's quite the conundrum you have there.
No one's really helping me make this decision. And thanks for the suggestion joker, I could totally get it sold way faster there then on eBay. I can't get both. And I don't really want the PS3 anymore....for anything. But I just remembered Final Fantasy 13. Checked and apparently FFXIII is coming out for 360 as well.
Why would someone pay you $400 for a used PS3 when they can get a new one for the same price? Not trying to be a smartass, just curious. I figure you have the bigger hard drive, but still... I don't see it. EDIT: Wait... you're probably including your games in it as well. Hm... my bad.
Dude someone would easily pay 400 if you sold it yourself from your house in person... Put an ad in the local newspaper or something and mention everything you have... Xbox it teh pwn get one
The PS3 I have is backward compatible, the new ones aren't. That's a pretty big deal to a lot of people. If I had a 60GB that has the emotion engine (hardware emulation) I could probably get even more for it. Mine also has 4 USB ports, the multi-flash card readers, and SACD support. The new ones don't have any of that and only 2 USB ports.
you wont be disapointed with the 360 i own all 3 systems and the only thing i use my ps3 for these days is blurays, the 360 is just soooo much better for online and playing with friends, its night and day and its a much more enjoyable experiance with PS3 i have a hard time even finding friends, let alone inviting them to games etc. i have the 60 gig PS3 and use it all for music and stuff, i also have a bunch of songs downloaded for rockband as well so i most likely will never sell mine, but if you are looking to, i guess u could advertise on craigslist etc. that u have all those songs downloaded and add a little to the overall cost by giving the person u sell your PSN account do not sell the system to gamestop etc. not worth it at all
Just in regards toy our first post about exclusive titles: my friend was playing a resident evil demo on his 360 the other night, so i don't think it's exclusive to the ps3. edit: You can also hook your ipod up to the 360 and play your own music in ALL games, not just ones that allow it.
If you're going to sell it, go through craigslist or something. However, let me convince you not to as I love my ps3 -Killzone 2 has gotten GREAT reviews, the demo was pretty fun. -Into racing? Gran Turismo 5 is coming out next year...maybe lol -The new Dead Rising is coming to PS3 along with 360. -PSN is free - and really...it isn't bad at all. No downtimes (which rape on 360...no LIVE during the holidays? lol I wouldn't accept if it were free...) -Blu-Ray is amazing! (Maybe you have a blu-ray player already though?) -You've got tons of rockband songs!!! -Really, most of the good games to be released are multiplat, and at this point they look exactly the same on both systems. And it has been said many, many, many times by many different people (experts) that the PS3 is more powerful and it is only a matter of time before devs start using the machine how it was intended to be used. -I, personally, don't know of any 360 exclusives that I would want...besides like Mass Effect. Halo 3 was extremely lame... Yes but the PS3 has CONSTANT updates, and they have expressed that they are looking into this, much as they did (and delivered) with in-game XMB. Playstation 3 may not have come out of the gates with all the bells and whistles, but Sony is listening and they are giving. XBOX just changes shit out of the blue to copy Nintendo style...wtf is that?! lol
Your reply was pretty irrelevant to what I wrote... I've tried both and I'd get a 360 if I wanted a console. Every person I know that owns a console has the 360, and the few that have both only use their 360. If I was really into single player games and movies I'd go for a ps3, but multiplayer is where it's at and blu-ray discs are a ripoff.
I think it's probably one of the most fun games I've ever played. Especially online it's totally amazing.
