country music without prejudice??????? wtf, I thought I saw it all. now, I see flaming gay dudes in country music, what has this world come to?? they arent even discreetly gay about it, just look at their single "save a horse , ride a cowboy". Good god, hank williams is rolling around in his grave.
I guess they couldnt get enough inbred rednecks into the nashville scene, so now they are trying to get the queer eye for the straight guy crap.
and who made the rules that a hippy cant listen to country?? I guess you have to listen to the stereotypical doors, hendrix, joplin, or the dead to be a hippy.
hank williams sr has been dead since the 50s... as far as I know, hank williams jr's liver hasnt given out.
I really want to see the video! I've been curious about it. I've seen that song title as a bumpersticker. I'd ride a cowboy. I love classic country much more than modern country though. 'Cept for Dwight.
Since when did country music have to be prejudiced? I admit, an openly gay country band is definitely not the norm, but believe it or not, rednecks live in the 21st century too. I've listened to country music (the real stuff, not that crap they play on CMT and commercial radio) for a long time and I don't think I've ever heard a prejudiced country song. It's probably because the people who are stupid enough to be prejudiced are also too stupid to write music.
hank williams is (was) the man. im alistenin to em right now infact (not that that has anythin at all to do wit this post).
Country music isn't prejudice? What have you been listening to? Every redneck I've ever met is homophobic. And, I live in KY, we have a lot of rednecks.
I've definietly heard some racist country before, some guy thoought it was funny and played it for me a long time ago....pissed me off. I think an openly gay country band is good, it might help those NASCAR loving rednecks who (everyone knows) are in the closet to come out. they could do their own version of Redneck Girl, only inserting stereotypically gay activities in place of the girl stuff.
