every time I watch it I get soo so so freakin hungry it's ridiculous. Especially with iron chef, and of courseI don't have anything like that here at home. arg. cmon commerical break so I can find myself some food
Iron Chef? I dunno - I have mixed feelings about it. Neat idea, but it's done tremendous damage to Japanese cuisine. Me, personally, I can't cook worth a damn, so I watch it religiously (all of their shows) but Alton Brown is the shiznit.
the food network always makes me hungry too. dan has a habit of turning it on when im cooking dinner that takes like an hour or three to make and our stomachs are already growling! ive gotten good ideas from there though....
alton brown is awesome. I don't watch the food netowrk as much as I used to though. I still love iron chef and iron chef america, even if it's not an entirely accurate image of japanese cooking
Between BBC America, the Food Network and that series on that one channel where some Brit dude restores a Harley and shows you step by step what he's doing, I could eat myself to death in front of the TV.
i like the nakid chief. hmm this thread inspired me to go over to my forum and post some recipes. haha. maybe ill make a sandwich soon.... if i decide to get up.
iron chef is kinda sick, with the secret ingredients they use....... I saw them make asparagus icecream nonetheless....... I like watching 30 minute meals with rachel ray
Problem with Iron Chef is this. The guys who were in it were like "wow, can't wait to go to the countryside and have some hardcore traditional rural old school Japanese food" and when they get there they're all doing fusion Iron Chef esque stuff. Even little old ladies with the traditional carts and stuff. As for the naked Chef, OK so he's trying to get Brits in school to eat more than chocolate and microwaved pies, but dude, he's annoying. I watched him squeeze a cherry tomato onto a piece of pita bread, put a curl of cheese on it, touch of oregano (pronounced whore ray gaw no) and he called it "pete-thaa" (pizza). He did this demonstration in front of a group of New York chefs, who, in a fit of unusual politeness didn't lynch the metrosexual little bugger by the drive chain of his little scooter thing.
I like his school dinners shows, but his actual cooking shows, well... his lisp is atrocious in it, I can't understand over half of what he says on the cooking show (unlike school dinners) and well, I just prefer the whole trying to overhaul cafeteria's thing
Hit-th not me that'th naked, it'th the food! He tries to come off as all street and London, but he's from Essex, the silver spoon sucking wanker
give me ming tsai, julia child and jaque pepin any day oh yeah lydia..... oh hell I never remember her last name (cooking w\ lydia is her show) I'm a pbs cooking show person......
Julia Child isn't cooking much these days. God rest her soul though. Though she was often imitated and mocked cause she looked and spoke like a TV most of her life, she basically pioneered the cooking show as we know it and was an all around great lady.
i like watching the food network at times, gives me a little hope that maybe i will be able to cook something thats not cereal or toast or chef boyardee...but then who am i kidding That one guy with the glasses and has that pointy hair, when i watch him on there he annoys me... Sometimes its like he talks in third person when hes cooking something and then he has those lame skits... I like watching unwrapped with that guy who use to be on double dare....
When I was getting ready to get married my wife watched shows like wedding story, when she got pregnant she watched shows like baby story and birthday, now she watches the food network all the time, does this mean she is going to make me food?
that good eats show is completely awesome. doesn't alton browne look just like thomas dolby? kai likes Everyday Italian because she thinks mama's on tv.
iron chef america makes me so hungry every time I see it, but I have to wait for a commercial break to find something to eat. a rg!
