I Really Need To Put My 2 Cents In

OK this goes nothing against anyone in the forums but its been really pissing me off lately. We get all these threads that say "bad trip", or "Awesome Trip", or can you smoke and "trip". This term "tripping" is really getting on my nerves. If you want to talk about "tripping" go to the psyhdelics forums and talk about shrooms or acid, which actually make you trip. When you smoke weed, you get high and you dont trip.

dude this weed i smoked one time was really trippy. i like saw colors and had tunnel vision and stuff

 

it is possible to "trip" on weed, but it takes a hell of a lot of bud to do that

 

i think weed kinda brings out the power of your imagination in the sense that when you do 'trip' you don't actually hallucinate an image or a sound, you just sort think about the image and your imagination kind of superimposes it into reality. and i don't know about you, but to me THC has a certain itchy trigger finger on the "panic button." things can be all fine, and then woops, a deluge of paranoia. and you just sort of go with it. so when i think something completely bizarre, out of the normal kind of appears to me when i know that it really shouldn't, well to say the 'least, it's pretty trippy.

oh, and of course, that would be only the bad side of the "trip." it's more of an "episode" really, but who the hell says episode? oh, and it normally takes a good bit of marijuana, at least for me, for anything like that to happen. or really good weed. so normally i have to be really high. needless to say this 'tripping' doesn't happen all the time.

although sometimes i'll be listening to a song and think i hear someone yelling, and yelling when i'm high really trips me out.

there was enough weed in the bong to give me one good rip, so i apologize for the rambling.

Weed and psychedelics aren't just different pages in the drug encylopedia, they're different volumes. While smoking a butt-ton of weed can make you feel "trippy", hell, you might even think you heard something or saw something, you are most certainly not tripping.

I'm not talkin' shrooms -- because there have been times I've munched some and actually just felt stoned more than tripp'd -- but ANYBODY that has really tripped balls-to-the-wall on some good L, knows damn well that there is no amount of potent weed that is going to even come close to comparing.

Go take 2 or 3 hits of acid and tell me if you can compare that shit to weed..

I have tripped on many psychedelics/dissociatives, from acid to shrooms to 2ce to harmaline/harmala to muscimol to DPH to DXM to salvia etc, and I am not trying to compare weed to any of those. A 'trip' doesn't necessarily have to consist of visuals and shit; I consider a 'trip' to be any instance of extreme mind expansion, and weed definitely expands my mind in a way that I would consider to be 'tripping'. I mean, when I am stoned, I have all of the trippy thoughts that I would get on some nice psyches. I never smoke a blunt and say "damn dude, I am tripping balls", but I do consider it a form of tripping.

Even the term 'psychedelia' means nothing more than 'mind expansion'. So, in essence, you're even 'tripping' when you're just meditating without the help of any drugs.

That's just one stoner's opinion though. Think what you will.

ya I dont say trippinbut when I smoke like 3 bowls to myself back to back I start to see visuals in the dark, and I agree its my imagination, cuz at first I ll think its something then laugh to myself for the weed doing that lol. but if you really wanna trip Id suggest acid , even tho I havnt tried it Ive heard crazy shit about it, dont see myself trying it tho because it fucks up your brain, ppl say its harmless but thats bullshit, my moms cuzin covered himself in gas and lit himself on fire infront of his grandmother because of a flashback. and I garuntee hunter s thompson couldnt handle the flashbacks anymore and shot himself.(incase ppl dont know he did a year ago I believe, but I bet ya know which hunter s thompson fan wouldnt?).

i always get some audio hallucinations but no tripping

 

yea i always hear WIERD shit when i get nice strong sativa based weed. usually ill have headphones on and hear stuff like bears growling. one time my friends were having a swordfight in the other room and i thought this kids dad was throwing shoes at him. one time i thought i heard someone yelling my name. pretty funny when you look back on it but at the time it can cause some nasty paranoia.

 

Yeah man the audio distortions are one of my favorite things about being stoned. I love listening to music man.

i dont think id classify it as the same kinda tripping as acid or shrooms etc but to me it still is tripping, like tns said its mind expansion, and weed most definately does that to me
