and there were only 3 very thin slices of anchovy on the ENTIRE pizza. it's like the person making it couldn't believe someone actually wanted anchovies. that bummed me out. i have some anchovies here in a can, but it's just not right unless it's cooked on there. hmph! still, those pieces with the anchovies were SO GOOD.
the only trouble with the pizza, though, is that my cat kept trying to put her head in my mouth while i was sleeping. that got kind of annoying. but guess what i get to do right now? i get to go take a nap with my baby. it's cold, it's windy, it smells like autumn, and my bedroom is dark and warm and cozy. add to that one snuggly baby and purring cat and life is GOOD.
I too would like to express my fondness for anchovies. Actually a friend of mine who worked in a pizzeria couldn't belive I was ordering anchovies on a pizza and said that so few people order them that if they hadn't been a chain branch they would have taken them off the menu years ago. it's so sad that people discriminate against us, when will we find our place in society? Black olives are good on a pizza but never chicken on a pizza I can only just accept pineapples on pizza cos it seems wrong but tastes so good.
anchovies are good; if you ordered it from us there is supposed to be one anchovie per slice. i could see a lot of reasons for there not being enough, with disbelief that you actually wanted them being at the bottom of the list (you get used to making seriously disgusting pizzas). my personal guess is that he finished off a can and was either too lazy to open another, or they were out of stock
black olives, anchovies, green olives, onions, garlic, and bacon are all good on pizzas I think...and with a thin crust, none of this chicago style stuff
i like the big slices of peppers, onions and tomatoes, too. with lots of olives. not sausage, though.
the mystery meat? icky. blech. italian sausage just gives me a screaming migraine. but yummy anchovies. HEY, PIZZA BOY! how do i get 2 anchovies per slice?
