I named my cat Jesus.

my argument:

The Son of God would be honored that I named my beloved animal counterpart after him.

 

Hundreds of people are called Jesus so your cat can has that name as well. You're asking for people to argument with you though, so I hope you don't get tired of them.

 

The people will inevitably argue with themselves. i just provide the catalyst

Why give your cat a name of which you know it provokes people if you don't wanna listen to them anyway

 

Well this is how it happened.

I had this cat for about two days.

I had this stack of sheets of "Jesus" stickers for a while.


I used the jesus stickers to mark my territory, basically. everywhere i went, i unloaded these jesus stickers on walls, poles, trashcans, whatever. well after a couple days of having this cat, a couple of the stickers ended up on his food and water bowl. So I decided that was gonna be his name.

His alternate name for anyone who didnt want to call him Jesus was "mittens"

 

Mittens would've have been cuter, Christ would have been the most offensive and Mittens H. Christ would've been the best of both worlds, you lose.

True, a mistake that is a lesson learned is a benifit.

Maybe you might choose to rename your cat based on my suggestion? not that i support negating Christ but i understand the need to offend agaisnt the grain :cheers2:

 

on a side note, what does the "H" stand for in jesus h christ?

He is such a cute kitty!!! I have a black & white boy too. Hahaha I think Jesus is an awesome name. It was just a name before Jesus took it, and it still is...just a name. People are named this all the time all around the world.

 

if you named it Muhammad , then you might get someone really pissed off ..lol. but Jesus prolly dont mind..

 

You can not use the lords name in vain the lord has no name!

But making vain of names given to him only are dampening our ability to surrender our love to him.

You know what is beautiful about loving god, its like watering the root of tree, when you water the root the whole tree feels it, because god is the root of everything, and is everything itself for that matter!

If you love your cat, then sure name it jesus.

If you're a Christian, then you believe everyone is a child of God. No-where in the bible does it say that you may not be named after another biblical figure. I mean, I was named by my parents after Matthew from the Bible.

Anyone who thinks that name is wrong is ignorant, simple.
