It's a good book. It's slow at times, but for the most part, it was insightful. Does anyone know if it's still being sold in stores? because my library only has one copy, and by the time i get to read it, i have to take it back. If anyone else has an opinion on the book, i'd love to hear it as well.
Oh man, I've always wanted to read it. I think I found it at Barnes and Noble a couple of years ago for $20, but I didn't have the money at the time. I think I'll go back in soon and see if it's still there. I'm not sure if it's still in print or not. George has been my favorite Beatle for some time now, so I definitely would like to read the book.
Oh ya my library has that. Well i requested it and they got it and told me and i was like whoah. i didnt actually expect them to. It is in print though its on amazon.com i think. I liked it. I read it about a year ago.
It's still in print. Amazon.com has new and used copies available if anyone is interested in buying one.
nice quick read. Great photo section & lyrics/ song tales section (almost more entertaining that the rest) I have a first edition (bought it the year it came out)
There are lots of copies of it at local bookstores here, so it's not out of print. I sat down in a bookstore one day and read it. The bookstores HATE that, but how can you tell if you're going to like a book if you don't read it? Hah, I liked it. It thought it was very George.
If you worked in retail you might understand. I read it a few years ago. Not too bad. But as someone else said it was a bit slow at some points. Thought the bio might have been a bit longer than the lyric list, too.
true. i just recieved the book from the library, which suprised me, cuz there were about 5 holds before me on it. The book is about 50$ canadian, which is a lot, too much for me. I think i heard somewhere that when the book was first released in the 70's, it was like 200-300 dollars, and they only released 1000 copies. It's an ok book though, not as juicy or detailed as i would have liked it, but i would never buy it now, after reading it.
My dad bought it sometime ago, I've mostly just looked at the lyric section. I hope to actually read it someday though. I've always been interested in George.
