It drives me mad! It's so hard to have a conversation with some one it text talk! They may as well be speaking another language. It's not even quicker, it's much easier to spell out the whole word in the bloody Queen's English!

The lazy person in me loves it.....I know what you mean though.....We have this whole wonderful language at our disposal and we shorten it to that bollocks.....I find myself writing now though in text talk..Maybe it can be classified as a new strain of the language??

I despise it. I hate mobile phones in general too. Sure, they have their uses, but am I the only one who gets pissed off when you're watching a movie with some friends, their mobile rings, AND THEY FUCKING ANSWER IT?!? Mobile phones promote rude, ignorant anti-social behaviour. And text talk. And possibly satanism.

Argh... I hate it when people write more than one sentence at a time in text talk. In actual texts I have no problem with it, as it is easier to fit more stuff in a message that way. But on forums, nooooo way!

Mobile phones are evil they are! I wish they were never invented. (And yes, I do have one... :&)

I hate it when someone puts priority over a mobile call to the one on one conversation your having.

If I'm chatting with someone and my phone rings my answer will invariably be "Sorry just in the middle of something can I call you back in a bit." Not start a new conversation on the phone and neglect the face to face one I'm having.

When people do that and you're just left standing there it's a little bit rude.

I hate it as much as you Claire!
I mean if what you can't say in one text doesn't work use two messages. And when typing on a key board... ARGH!!!!! it doesn't take that long to type plus to be fair for the person typing its harder as you have to think more. And text talk on MSN sometimes drives me nuts too... ARGH!

    *and breathe*

i now apologise to everyone i've used text talk too! i use it all the time. if you send what you're trying to say in two messages it costs twice as much, so i use text talk in everything so that the message stays short.

so my apologies to all of you that i've text talked to!

    peace and love

Text talk is fine in texts. It's other forms of communication where it's wanky.

I've never heard anyone in Somerset say "AVE IT", "SAFE", "PARTAAAAAAY", "SACK IT OFF" or any one of a hundred of your annoying expressions! I could cope with it a lot better if I actually believed you were as thick as it makes you sound :p

It's all about Goldie Looking Chain, know what I mean? I use cockneyisms in speech sometimes, but never in writing. It just doesn't sound right for me....
