I like my job

I go around to four different supermarkets, take their old bread off the shelf and replace it with new bread. I then I fill in a bread order for the following day and sometimes set up displays for catalogue specials. I drive my own car and get paid for every kilometer I drive as well as every hour I work. The bonus rates on weekends are wonderful, and the rate of pay is quite good. I only work about 25 hours and yet earn a decent amount of money. I like everyone I work with, except for the merchandiser from the opposing company. However, when I tell this lady that I hope she dies, the look on her face is priceless, and gives me more reason to wake up in the morning. I turn up late all the time and nobody seems to care...this is my favourite part of the job. In fact, I don't get in trouble for anything. I have always gotten into trouble, this confuses me.

Its not particularly rewarding, but its not overtaxing and gives me time to think. I should be able to fit my university lectures around my work hours, which is fantastic. I have had many crap jobs and this is a refreshing change.

Sounds Yeasty! I guess as long as you have some bread its a good job. Seems like it lets you loaf. Just dont let the job make you stale.

 

I quit my job today.

 

I just got a $2 raise January 1st.

Then, yesterday I found out that my job was superseded. My Manager called me and said over the phone that instead of being laid off, I can enroll in a training class this Monday. Only, most of the training class hours are when I'll be in class.

All of the part-time workers in my department are being transferred to work in another part of the company.

It's kind of shitty. I used to be able to do my homework at work, I could go online at work, I liked my supervisors, my managers, and now I don't know if I'll even like this new position. But I still get my raise.

 

Why? I thought you really liked it.

Some days I hate my job. Other days, like the stress-free or minimally stressful ones, I like it a little and find myself enjoying it. I'm a dairy/frozen food stocker. It's cold, very cold, it's also winter. That shit is heavy too, so my body hurts. I'm also slow, it's hard to do heavy lifting fast, and I'm getting shit for it. BUT-- Major pro to this job:
I lost weight over the holidays. And I'm getting muscles in my arms. I'm going to look so good this summer.

I bought a milk mint chocolate bar today.

No, $2 raise per hour. I make $13.50 an hour now. It ends up being roughly $70 more per paycheque. Not a huge raise, but more in my pocket.

I may be making a $1 more per hour in my new position as well. So, I'll be back up to my starting wage at my other job which will be nice.

We get like, 20-30 cent raises. $70 more per paycheck! Freakin nice.
