i don't care that i grew up in the metric system, it sucks so would someone please tell me what 12.75" means. feet or inches
cuz i did most my measuring at home baking and cooking with mom, she used imperial and thats how i learned, then they come along in school and confuse the hell outta me
um thats the imperial system 12.75" whats hard about that? its 12 and 3/4 inches. has nothing to do with metric system. if it said 12.75' then it would be feet. metric uses milimeters, centimeteres, meters, kilometers. imperial uses inches, feet, yards & miles. http://www.initium.demon.co.uk/converts/metimp.htm heres a conversion cahrt for ya to use till you learn it better really the only peopel that shoudl be bothered with the metric system would be civilians working for the canadian military building things. scince most of use liek to use inches and feet, it will through you off to get blueprints in milimeteres and centimeters. besides that theres nothign wrong with the metric system. except the fact that there are 2 to choose from. thank Trudeau for that.
yeah, where's the adventure in the metric system? it's like killing all forms of archaic british currency: you never get to laugh at the utter confusion on the faces of those trying to deal with it.
metric doesnt compute to me. I admit its a way better system, but the numbers do not translate well to the system my schools and parents and products marketed to me has taught me. I under stand 750 ml = a fifth-ish and meter is simililar to a yard. But shoe sizes and wieghts baffle me. My ignorance, admittdly, but I understand why all the American Powers that be dont wanna switch. If we did, I would learn, but I am in no hurry,,,,
i just get confused between the both of them cuz i learned metric at school but used imperial at home, so they meshed together and the " & ' always mix me up
